The census was Ole Miss needed to solidify their OL and defense. Well they’ve def done it with their defense and the biggest fish is still in town. Feels like it’s going to be hard to replicate this many stars aligning all at once with returning players and staff, portal additions, and a not bad schedule. OM needs to capitalize on this momentum because history says it’s REALLY hard to come by. Am I trying to jinx it for them? 1000% yes. Oh, in State news, Picayune’s finest Donte Dowdell is supposedly in Starkville this weekend. Would love that addition for Lebby. 2024 may be tough but you can kinda see the foundation for 2025 and 2026 coming together if State is able to finish off this signing class relatively strong. If you’re talking about Nolan, he CAN be a beast, but he is still being hyped up over potential after two seasons playing college ball. To be honest I think most of these guys have been overhyped but I think if the chemistry is right, combined it could be one heck of a unit that’s got plenty of depth as well. I can understand high school players being rated based on potential, but with these portal guys you actually know if they’ve been productive. He was committed to state for almost a year, then took an OV to OM the weekend before signing day. He flipped to OM and then was dropped by OM the night before signing day.
