When’s the best time to practice an onside kick against live competition other than practice when they know it’s coming? Sounds to me like had the other team recovered they would’ve had better field position than they normally did. In the words of Bill Parcells-“Do I have to coach the other team too?”

Been told by a bunch that it was quite possibly the worst officiating game ever. From the examples I’ve been told I can see why they’d say it.

I’m going to go with Grenada because during the summer it seemed like for a 2 week stretch they had a kid transferring to another school every day yet they’ve done surprisingly well so far.

So how people have always said when smaller schools schedule schools that are 2 to 3 classes above them it’s to prepare them for region play and playoffs, that’s not actually making them better? Should lower class schools stop scheduling higher class schools? I think your comment is a bit of a knee jerk reaction. Almost every year, teams like Tupelo, Oak Grove, Brandon just to name a few will field more future college players than any of the MAIS schools. Teams like JA this year come around every so often like Greenville Christian a few years ago which was a different circumstance and even that team which as of now is the best MAIS school of all time had a battle with Oak Grove. Just this year MRA/JDC was a dang good game and was nothing like 9th/10th graders playing junior college players. Same with Columbia/Hartfield. Those are 2 of the big 4 MAIS schools and I would think of those as 2 good 4A schools rather than junior colleges. You talk as if these schools are like IMG, Bishop Gorman or Mater Dei when in all actuality they may only have 3 or 4 guys that aren’t home grown.

Part of me thinks the only thing we’ll learn from the Louisville/ John Curtis game is whether Louisville should be ranked in the top 25 nationally after it. I think they’re playing with house money after how John Curtis played North Shore last week. If they lose then oh well it’s against basically a top 40 team nationally. The other part of me thinks with a win the country should view Louisville as a top 25 team. I started writing this post by saying we won’t really learn anything from this game and then I added this part because I think John Curtis wins but WHAT IF?!?!

Plus going to get an angry motivated John Curtis team that last night let a game slip away from them in the 4th against nationally ranked North Shore who is arguably the 2nd best team in Texas. Penalties killed a drive for John Curtis late in the 4th that would’ve given them the lead.

Congrats to Riverside. They lost 52-8 but they hadn’t scored since Oct 31 2024. That’s one monkey off their back. Ironically their scoreless streak started after shutting out O’Bannon 8-0 and ended last night against O’Bannon.

Y’all are 1-1 and could’ve easily been 2-0 after playing 2 really good teams. I wouldn’t be so hard on yall.

With West Tally losing to West Bolivar tonight and Leflore County beating Simmons, I would say Leflore County is the team in 1A North to keep an eye on.

Kelvin Bolden coming back to Ole Miss is huge for future recruiting.

If I were Tulane I would’ve promoted Craddock to HC before I went with Hall.

I remember when NSD felt like another holiday. Now it’s just basically another day with the way times are. That being said Ole Miss was able to get signatures from the two guys I was hoping would stick around. Landon Barnes and JaMichael Garrett are going to be future stars on the defensive side of the ball. Can’t wait to see them in Ole Miss jerseys.
