The irony of that is crazy.

Tupelo 2017 11-1 (0-1 playoff) 2018 7-5 (0-1 playoff) 2019 7-5 (0-1 playoff) - run off Trent Hammond the best X’s and O’s football coach they’ve had 2020 6-5 (0-1 playoff) 2021 7-4 *** no playoffs*** - oh no we look like idiots for getting rid of Hammond so let’s begin getting area talent. Ask anyone who lives in this area when they began recruiting and they will tell you that it was around this time. The head coach at Saltillo left because administration refused to do anything about it.
-
The question was “if they weren’t allowed to recruit…”
-
If there is plenty of talent in Tupelo then why do they have 3 starters from Saltillo a few from Baldwyn, Shannon, Oxfords QB from last year etc? Go check and see how many deep playoff runs they (Tupelo) had prior to recent years. Only one I recall is when Trent Hammond was there and that team was much better coached than the current regime. The first couple years Hardin was at Tupelo on “local” talent didn’t they go undefeated and get bounced in the first round? Oxford has been competitive the last several years because they have redrawn the school lines 2 dozen times to get certain players in the county and the one time that players went the other direction to Lafayette County because of coaching staff Neaves and his boys stepped in and ruled them ineligible because Oxford pitched a hissy fit and then MHSAA let them play at Oxford even though they were all living in Lafayette County district and had been there for years.

If I’m petal I’m running it down Hattiesburg throat. They have proven to not be very physical at all the last 2 appearances in the SC game.

Grenada has now lost 5 starters to transfer and a kid that was going to get a lot of action at RB had to get a pacemaker put in and can no longer play football due to health. My understanding is the kid collapsed on the field this summer and had to have chest compressions done to save his life.

Oxford High School and Tupelo High School and honestly probably Jackson Academy and Hartfield Academy.

Those two games will be huge and I believe any one of those 3 teams could be pulled out of a hat to rep the North Half of the state. From a talent perspective it should be Winona.
-
It’s a very good list. I saw Nanih Waiya in the spring and Calhoun City. Calhoun City lost a ton from last year but they still have a lot of talent. They are very good at QB and WR as well as up front on offense. Defensively they aren’t as good especially at LB but they are very solid.

Cleveland Central is 5a and will play for the North half more than likely in 5A vs Point City. -
Biggersville will be really good. I don’t know a ton about them but I believe they have a lot returning. Calhoun City will be right back in the mix. I like Nanih Waiya as a sleeper.

Winona is absolutely loaded in every single grade. They will be very competitive and should represent the North Half of the state. I know it’s hard to bet against Noxubee County but the team Winona has is ridiculous. They have 4-5 legitimate D1 players in 3A.

Facilities Resources Numerous kids playing college ball The “great” coaching staff openly reaches out to other coaches in the areas players and brings them in on “visits” and convinces them to move to Tupelo. The “great” coaching staff then has 18-25 D1 players and 3 of the top 10 in state of Mississippi and then loses to West Point and Gulfport with 1 D1 player on the team.

Considering they open with Wooddale Saltillo Port Gibson Lewisburg Hernando Pure Academy and then have Columbus and Caledonia in division They will find a way to finish 6-5 and call it a great season and Mr Foster will continue to stroke his own ego. -

No…. Lafayette will finish 4th in their division again and fight to finish 4th. Pontotoc is returning 16-17 starters and New Hope is much more athletic and better coached than Lafayette Co. and Lafayette has never beaten West Point in recent past. Lafayette County CHOSE to end the crosstown classic because of their incompetence and inability to field a competitive team and picked up Port Gibson instead. They stated that the rivalry with Oxford no longer fit the “goals” of program. actual quote from superintendent: “After fulfilling future scheduling commitments, we will consider scheduling options more consistent with our classification and goals,"
