I don’t like long road games

Region 8 could be a really competitive region next season. East Marion is going to be really really good, and both collins and north Forrest have a good group coming back. East Marion also added a transfer from west Marion, though I don’t know anything about the player. This region will be matched up with region 6 in round 1. That could be some really good matchups

Have they had some folks transfer out?

If I’m picking a sleeper this year, I’m gonna pick Collins. I think they could surprise some people. I think they finish 2nd in the district behind east Marion, but wouldn’t be totally shocked if they ended up winning the region. They always have good looking athletes. I still can’t believe they haven’t consolidated with Mount Olive yet.

That’s not the case for Forest. Forest will have already played their first region game, and would have had Raymond the next week after Raleigh. They just chickened out. There’s no other explanation.

I don’t buy their reasoning either. They just didn’t want to play the game.

Pretty sure I picked Tville to beat Stringer last year. I said all year last year that Tville had a good starting 11, but not much depth. Last year it came down to Simmons and Tville. This year I think it’s Simmons and stringer

Lamar called us and told us the MAIS was re-doing all the scheduling for private schools and were going to have to cancel our scheduled game. But then later on Lamar released their schedule, and had an open date on the week we were supposed to play them. I take that as they just didn’t want to play us. And it was going to be a home game for them.

We tried to schedule Choctaw during that bye week but their AD wouldn’t agree to it. We were going to travel to their place too.

Biggersville also lost their coach didn’t they?

Taylorsville was the better team last season. They were a veteran squad with several multi year starters. I think they had like 17 seniors. That’s a lot of seniors for any 1A school. The flip side of that is that they only had like 30 players, so that senior class was at least half of their entire roster. I don’t think stringer loses to Tville this year.

What’s it looking like this year? Personally I think the south is a little stronger than the north overall but I think the best overall team could come from the north in Winona. I think Raleigh and Seminary will determine who comes from the south. Seminary to me personally is getting totally disrespected. They return most of their team from last season and yet many people have them ranked behind PCS. I know everybody is high on Winona right now, and I am too. They were already going to be really good and have added some good transfers over the summer. So they probably will be the favorite early on. But Raleigh is always strong defensively and knows how to pound the ball and control the clock. I think them and seminary both have a team that could beat them.
