No, they didn’t choose to not actively participate in it. They chose not to participate in the curriculum part of it. And they didn’t get a say so if their tax dollars went towards it or not, it was taken from them regardless. So they at least are choosing to participate in some parts of it, since their tax dollars are helping fund it. If they didn’t pay anything towards it at all, you would have an argument. But they pay just as much as you do, and are only accessing part of it while you access all of it.
-
But at the same time you acknowledge that their tax dollars do go towards that same system, so therefore they should be able to get some of the benefits of it.
-
They could still do well in a spread, but I think the power run would still need to be their main offense. Like Mississippi State used to run in Mullen’s first couple seasons. I have heard the entire staff is leaving but I don’t know if that’s true.
-
Oh I know it won’t. But it would give them the most likelihood for success.
-
You just answered your question. They lost RB, 2 WR’s, and their QB. But they still have their OL. They could control the LOS, and play ball control on offense. Ball control offense would really benefit them, especially considering how thin they are depth wise. It would help their defense. If they still had Beavers, Dre and Reco, of course they would still be spread. But those guys are gone and the JV guys are not on that kind of level. Barnes won’t be able to do it all on his own.
-
Personally I wouldn’t put Barnes at QB. I would leave him at WR. And honestly, I would probably go to some form of a wing style offense, whether it’s wing-t or double wing.
-
Just be patient with him. Tville is not going to be as good as fans are accustomed to. They do not have the talent they used to have. I do expect their record to be better next season though because I don’t expect them to have anywhere near as tough a schedule as they have had the last couple years. So they should win more next season with an easier schedule. But with Lumberton and an improving Stringer team in their district, I could see them finishing anywhere from 1st to 3rd in their region standings.

I agree with this, but you also wonder what happens to the poor performing school when you allow the best students to leave? That struggling school will get even worse.
-
Well we have a couple nearby our school. From what I have been told a school can deny those students if they are already overcrowded
-
No I’m talking about his other one that was mentioned. House Bill 1435
-
Is that the one where a kid from a failing school district can go somewhere else ?

How much does Starkville pay? Cause Carter gonna be making 6 figures at Heidelberg next year. Plus it’s closer to home for him. He does have a daughter up that way I think so I guess it’s not totally out of the question. But they will have to pony up some money.

I think the fan base needs to be patient with Adrian. Tville will still have some pieces next season, but they are paper thin depth wise and will have to develop a lot of the younger players. The fan support has been horrible there the last several years as it is so the last thing they should be with any new coach is impatient.
-
Yes I figured he would get the job. He is a good guy, and I hope he has a lot of success
-
Happy for Adrian. Good guy.

6 teams… 3 games for 2 quarters
-
They played 1 team each. Raleigh played south jones, Mize played northeast jones, and Tville played Scott central. Last time when the jamboree was at Raleigh, everybody played 2 teams for 1 quarter. I didn’t like that format. I would rather play one team for 2 quarters, and that’s what we have done the last couple years.
-
This is true. Soules had them competing. Good coach and a good guy too.
-
He’s superintendent. He ain’t coming back to coach
-
Who are the other teams that’s gonna be there besides the smith county teams
-
I think Tville is posted on county website but it’s not on MHSAA
-
Mize returns quite a bit offensively and defensively, especially defensively. Next couple of years could be pretty good if we stay healthy. Only one starting football player plays baseball so spring should be pretty good.
