If State can get Dowdell, it’ll make an immediate difference in that trajectory. He’s an immediate day 1 starter and he would make more of a difference at Mississippi State. I hate we missed out on this kid and Mizzou got a good one but what I hate more is when folks talk good about someone then act like he’s nothing when they don’t get the kid. I liked what I saw from Pittman this year. Seth Davis is really talented but tore his ACL in the Egg Bowl. Lee looked pretty good in limited action. They also have a commitment from a JUCO RB from Co-Lin and are rumored to be heavily in the mix for Daniel Hill from Meridian. Where would Dowdell fall in that hierarchy? Probably near the top. And I think State would love to have him. But it’s a crowded room if State is able to add both Hill and Dowdell, and might push one of the other guys out. Also have the #2 DE Tyler Baron from Tennessee in town right now that’s also crystal balled to commit to Ole Miss. We realized yesterday though that you can’t always trust the crystal ball. You are adding a four year starter who knows how to run an offense. Obviously, I have no idea who they have in the on deck circle but obviously the coaches did not think they were ready or they would have not invited Rogers to come out there.
