If they name a permanent location, there's no need for shopping it every year and seeing what they can get. And I'm not saying what they can get personally in this situation because I have no idea. But that's how a lot of stuff works.

Back in the conference days, there was one in the east-central area (ECAC was name) that included Cumberland, Mathiston, Mabben, Sturgis, Weir, Durant. Other teams that still exist for now - Ethel, Noxapater, Nanih Waiya. They turned out a pretty good number of D1 players for 1A schools mostly in the late 70's and 80's.

Yes, the only positive over football, maybe, is you don't physically destroy each other in baseball. Maybe it makes you better by tournament time, but makes it harder to receive favorable seeding.

And this is why I can't commit as a baseball fan any more than I do. The game is just too fickle. I understand being young, lots of new players, but that's basically what it is for everybody now. All three teams may well still end with successful seasons, but the road to get there is hard to watch. All we have for now is the old saying, "you are what your record says you are".

I can see both sides on a lot of these. For example, vouchers for students already in private schools may be targeted towards students from a struggling public school district that have already transferred and are struggling to pay. It is based on financial need, isn't it? It's hard to imagine the whole thing won't be corrupted I would concede.

The way it is now I don't think we'll know from year to year. It'll probably be 6-7 teams every year that happen to get the portal right and are a surprise. OM could have very well been back next year, but it sounds like Chambliss may be out now. It remains to be seen, I think, whether Indiana is sustainable. As for the extra years of eligibility, I don't see why they allow it for one and not another. Chambliss could go as high in the draft this year as he ever will though. I don't know what the draft people are telling him, but it's hard to imagine him or the team having a better year next year.

I believe the court ruling that closed Edinburgh and Thomastown called for eventually one county-wide district. I thought it was supposed to happen within two-three years. There may have been discussion of the need for a new high school to accommodate the number of students. That may be the holdup.

He didn't want to single JA out from everybody else. But basically, private schools, by nature, must recruit students and athletes. It's a question of where you draw the line. He implied, or gave as an example, a powerful, influential family who had given a lot to the school. Now their kid has lost his position to a recruited player.

I wouldn't think the school could stop you from transferring aside from your athletic eligibility. Maybe they leave and sit out a year or don't leave but won't play for the school. It seems just really tough to enforce anything. If you make the family mad for not allowing transfer, many will probably sit out for spite.

The lack of physicality wasn't just on the lines. In some cases, DB's were getting ran over. A few plays on defense, they had no contain on the outside.
