I just don't think with all the film and exposure these days kids with legit collegiate talent are going to be missed wherever they are.

Alabama looks like who we thought they were after Florida State. I lean MSU, but I'd like to see OM win it all for Lane's sake.

Merry Christmas to Wayne County. And may the New Year bring you resolution and good luck next season.

Oklahoma looking to blow Alabama out so far. Do Alabama players suspect their coach is leaving?
-
For some kids the disciple and accountability they are exposed to in athletics may be just as important as academics. It may be the only place they see it. Not putting one over the other, I think athletics and academics can be equally important parts of the educational process. Great coaches, I think, want their kids to be successful at both. Being successful might look different in different cases.

That seems like a major ball drop on somebody's part not to have that planned better. I would have assumed all major stadiums could accommodate something like this. I know they haven't put the money in the stadium some places have, but still pretty considerable spent I'd think to not have addressed this.

Facebook saying Freeze has landed in Hattiesburg?

It seemed to me defense at all levels of football had been under-emphasized and not very good the last few years. Some of these games showed some pretty good defense. NFL and college are back up some as well. Tackling had gotten really bad as they emphasized the targeting calls. Everyone seems to be adjusting now. Anyone else feel this way, or just me?

I think they should at least try for Durkin. He may be staying it sounds like. He may be thinking stay, have another good year, and get a head coach job.

Isn't this where you're better not playing in SEC championship game? If you did and lost, there'd be nowhere to go but down.
-
Yes, some odd rumors. Jimmy Sexton is representing some of these guys is he?
-
Don't they have to post it either way? I see they haven't narrowed that list of responsibilities as discussed last year.
-
Have all the games finished by winter break. Maybe NC by Thanksgiving week. Coaching changes and transfers start then with transfers enrolling by spring semester.

The Lane Train is leaving the Oxford station. How many OM fans want to see him taken to the Yellowstone train station for the way it is playing out? Threating to take players and coaches? Not sure if that's true.
-
I don't follow very closely, but it's always concerning in any sport when the thing the coach is known for is not very good.

One variable for Lane that we might not consider enough is, at least the rumors say, that he's receiving interest from NFL teams as well. Specifically, the Giants, which would reunite him with Dart, and Titans have been mentioned. If true, part of his decision is not only which college team, but college or NFL. He may never be in this position again. All that being said, as a primarily MSU guy, I'd still like to think staying at OM would be what he decides is best overall for him and his family.

Is he like that girlfriend who has some really annoying habits, but man is she hot!

With Alabama losing to Oklahoma, what are the chances they get in the Kiffin sweepstakes with anything less than a finals appearance?
-
Some of the talking heads saying the betting lines for Kiffin and the game moved yesterday like somebody knew something.

Let's don't forget the challenges with playoffs, Egg Bowl, etc. here/coming up.

Trying out a new term here. Arkansas got MSU'd.
-
I'm going with Arkansas being the only remaining game Texas wins. Oklahoma is the only decent team they beat. They needed luck to scrape by MSU and Kentucky. Texas A&M, on the other hand, has only Missouri left as a decent opponent. They' re probably in the playoffs. I see Facebook posts about MSU offering Austin Simmons. Is that true? I'm not a huge Freeze or Auburn guy, but they have gotten shafted several games and may be as good as any of the second tier SEC teams.
-
I understand coming into the season MSU could be much improved and not have the record to show it. However, as the season has played out, Florida and Texas were winnable games. They weren't as good as we thought coming into the season. So to me a little disappointment is reasonable and you have to be concerned about a developing pattern of poor game management decisions.
