Long drives and time of possession. If they can keep it close into the 4th though, you can't count them out. They have done kids with speed at wr if the qb hits them in the hands. He can be erratic at times, especially if under pressure. Their running game relies on their speed to the edges, if your d ends can get a couple yards in backfield quick then they stall. Qb will panic under pressure and scramble then throw wild pass on run. Their defense backfield hood speed and go got knees to tackle. They don’t like getting hit in the mouth. Hit them for a big play or two early they struggle all game. If they get a lead they get more motivated. They tend to collapse mid 3rd. If they are down even if it’s close you will see their body language change. I hope they can beat Louisville and I think they can. I really like the Winona pick for 3A. Don't know enough about 1A or 2A to make a pick there. Yes South Panola’s name holds a lot of weight but they nor Grenada really struck me this year as championship caliber teams but 6A North is so watered down because of reclassification that someone had to go. I do believe OG has more weapons. My pick OG 6A WJ vs Grenada man Grenada has had a really good season and has plenty of talent. But WJ wow this is the best defense I have seen in a few year. Their offense has peaked at the right time. The scary part is a freshman QB, a Jr power back and a sophomore scat back. Their offensive and defensive lines look like college lines lol. My pick WJ 5A Laurel vs WP well WP is WP they are going to do what they do. They will run the ball down your throat. Laurel they have some athletes and they are big. They have some speed in the backfield and outside. The QB IMO is playing out of position I’m not sure if they had an injury or he’s all they have. They had a lot of turnovers in our game. My pick is WP 4A Columbia vs Louisville wow I believe this is the game of the championship weekend. Columbia is really a good team if you haven’t watched them you will be surprised. They are very well coached and don’t beat their self. Louisville on the other hand lol they are Louisville fast and physical man. I know I said WJ was the best defense but this one is not bad. My pick Louisville 3A Noxubee vs Winona another great matchup both teams have outstanding QBs Noxubee they are battle tested. Their skilled players are very good. Winona another one of those smash mouth physical teams. Both teams are going to hit you in the mouth not for the faint of heart lol. My pick Winona 2A Heidelberg vs Charleston.. First year HC Daryl Carter has got his team to buy in. The past two weeks they have defeated Bay Springs and Raleigh behind a Freshman QB I believe. Protecting the ball is key for the oilers. Charleston is no stranger to Championship game but it hasn’t always been good to them. This team is a little different I believe they are on a mission to get the jinx off of them and have the talent to do so. My pick Charleston 1A Biggersville vs Velma Jackson two really good teams with athletes galore. Velma Jackson is making their first championship game in football so they can’t come in nervous. They fell behind early against Taylorsville last week before barn storming back. If they fall behind this week I don’t see that come back. Biggersville this will be the best team Velma has played . This isn't the typical high school field. I'm sure there will be very little damage to the field/ grass. Several years ago the 6A game at MSU was postponed because of a flood/power outage. The field was under water, you could see no grass. The next day you couldn't tell it had rained. Right now the heaviest rain chance for the weekend is from 8:00 tonight til about 4:00 Friday morning. Oh I don't disagree with it being much better grass than any high school field. I thought I remember States field getting a little sloppy. 7 games in 3 days is still a pretty good work load.
