  1. Man this is a tale of two different styles. GC is high flying and fast paced. The knight kid is something special and they have Wr's to complement him. The Yune is a ball control time consuming offense. Honestly don't know if either one of them can stop the other. I think it comes down to which ever one makes the most mistakes and turns the ball over.
  2. Ohhh I agree and they have done a great job turning tings around. I just think Hattiesburg is a little better team this year.
  3. Has anyone actually seen numbers that show what cut offs will be?
  4. It is crazy to see how far they have fallen!
  5. Hattiesburg should win this one pretty easy. They have definitely played a tougher schedule than Terry.
  6. Isn't Randal Montgomery the head coach at Southaven?
  7. And I agree with that once or twice a season but when they start having to play them week in and week out what will happen. MRA plays East Rankin tonight and that game will be over by the end of the first quarter. i think it will be different if they where playing a 3A or 4A schedule all year. Would they still be good and win more than they lose, Yes! But, I think over time that schedule would be a lot harder on them than what they are playing now.
  8. The thing is this guy can the beat a Oak Grove or a Taylorsville or some one like that once a year. Yeah, but when they join the mix and play week in and week out against 4 or 5A schools they will struggle. When they get to the playoffs and have to win 4 games to get to the State championships the odds of that will greatly decrease. You realize the 6A private schools play one playoff game to qualify for the state championship. Both Prep and Hartfield are the smaller of the 2 big 4 with about 800 to 1000 in k-12 with an average of about 85 a grade. MRA and JA have 1300 + in the same grades so about 110 per grade. That would put them in the 3A to 4A range. You would not be able to do a multiplier because there are other private school already established in the MHSAA, and if you wanted the smaller ones to join after the MAIS folded they would not join.
  9. Majority of the smaller classifications schools are north of I-20. in 1A only 2 districts are below I-20. In 2 and 3A there are 3 below 1-20 and 1 that is along I-20. North Mississippi has many small towns with small schools. Over they years these schools have been less open to consolidation that has happened more frequently in South Mississippi. Now a a days when districts consolidate is most often state mandated. The Delta has recently seen some consolidation, but in south Mississippi most small schools have consolidated years ago. Only thing that could happen now is if districts decide to close a small school and consolidate students. I am hearing around Jackson the big 4 Private are eyeballing joining the MHSAA. I heard from a good source yesterday some talks have already been had but the MAIS does not want them to leave. They realize if they do it will fold, but I think those four have realize for them to continue to grow and survive they can not prop up the MAIS. I think many will watch and see how the PCS deal works out this year. If that happened in the next few years we could see a large influx of private schools joining the MHSAA.

    Hot Seat

That's what I was al That's what I was told. Why?

    Hot Seat

Well we are 5 games in to the season and most teams are about to start district play. Who may be on the Hot Seat at this point in the season?
  12. The fight didn't happen between the teams from what I was told. Something happened after the game. My understanding it had nothing to do with Louisville.
  13. I think kids should be able to go where every they want. If they or their parents get mad at a coach on Thursday they should be able to wake up and go somewhere else Friday morning and play that evening. I think we should also subsidize them for what their parents call them, how their face looks and how the are viewed. We could call it NIL for Name-Image-Likeness! This would solve all our problems. But this is what they see from college kids and want to strive for. I know of a high school kid that is a top recruit in the nation and know for a fact that the day he steps on his campus he will become a Millionaire .
  14. Well I seen online the other day the Qb from GC is hurt so that will help some that game. Yeah it's crazy to thin about 10 years ago they were on National T.V on a Thursday night. Now they are not even a .500 ball club.
  15. Greene County throttled you guys. That was the first time they have beat you guys. It must be bad in Waynesboro! Can he survive this year? Can you guys win another game?
  16. So would those teams still play their games Friday with only 2 days of practice? Do they move them to Saturday and practice Friday?
  17. Will this rain be hitting north Ms. Friday?
  18. Will she impact any of the games this Friday. I remember back in the day when I played weather was a part of it. (I know I sound like my Grandpa used to!) But, now a days the slightest little bit of rain or storm and games are moved up or back. I get so the fans can come watch and money, Blah Blah Blah, but some of my greatest memories in high school playing where crazy weather games! Well What do you all think, will this storm have any impact? Short practice weeks, games moved?
  19. How is MRA QB this year? I know their good one graduated last year.
  20. Can't read the article!
  21. I was in Waynesboro last night passing thru and stopped in a fast food restaurant. A kid had on football equipment and was waiting for food. Looked like he had to be about 5th or 6th grade. An adult in line spoke to him and asked was he ready to be up at the high school and play. He said I am going to Wayne Academy when I get up there. Kind of caught me off guard. Seems like this may become more of the norm in the future for Waynesboro.
