Many of your larger school districts and classifications have A.D.-only positions. With the Mississippi High School Activities Association keyword activities! Many of these large districts and schools can have up to 20 to 25 sports and activities that students can participate in. Some districts tie these jobs into other jobs as well but it is becoming more and more common.

So who is doing the hiring the new principal?

So what jobs are still open who?

He may have but this is a good hire if he sticks around. From all I have heard he is a great coach with much experience at the college level. Also, Clinton may be a great town to live in but Starkville has got to be a better job. Also, these big-time high school programs are turning into almost college-like programs. So if he sticks I think it will be a good hire!

He has coached some high school ball in Louisiana but that looks like it has been years ago. Definitely a very experienced coach. Guess Clinton and Boswell will be going back to the drawing board and trying to find another coach.

Clinton Head Coach John Carr has been hired as head coach of Starkville. He was at Clinton only for 1 year.

I Agree. Think he will do a great job. They always have athletes.

Trust me Hopson has enough connections and most in the state know him. Yes he has not been an A.D but has been around high level athletics and I don't see how this is a bad hire for the district.

Coats and Merchant were great coaches during their time I agree, I am just saying that the majority of the kids probably all don't know who those two are and most of their parents probably don't either.

Heard they had their coaching clinic last Friday! Slick any word on how that went.

Most at Hattiesburg probably don't even remember who Coach Merchant is. I am positive Hattiesburg has changed drastically since he was there and sure like other posters said many under him have retired or close to it. By now those worth a grain of slat have established their own Legacy.

Well, we have been back in school for about a month. Spring ball should be starting soon. How's everyone's teams looking?

Very true. Maybe go get a coordinator from a coast school. What about French. I remember some one mentioning his name at one point.
