All I can say is wow. I’ll take my plate of crow. Credit to Coach Hankins for spreading the offense out more. It looked like we had 4-5 serious playmakers out there, especially our stud WR #12. QB looked like a seasoned vet delivering the ball on time and in rhythm. The biggest change though was the dominance up front. slick is 100% correct. Shame on Hackthorne for shutting down the tailgating. I heard it was because people were drinking like they have been doing at WC tailgates for well over 20 years. Relax Bubba. Go grab a plate of blackstrap and a cold one. Seems like you need to unwind.

Slick hit the nail on the head. This weird Alabama bush league wing-t experiment is done. Second rate programs are making a mockery of almost 2 decades of winning. Think Shula at Bama or Matt Luke at Ole Miss. That’s what we’re dealing with right now. After the Thomasville transfers graduated last year, it became evident what this program is gonna be under Hankins. There are only two men I want to see replace Hankins next season and both would take it if called.

I’m hearing rumblings they are better than Picayune. I saw them play once but what makes them stand out?

I’ve seen enough. A change has to happen this offseason. Three years into a rebuild shouldn’t look like this. I’ve seen young WC teams before and they didn’t look like this. Youth is no excuse. The Wing-T will never work here. This team will have a losing record. It’s time to call Todd Breland up from Wayne Academy and get this talented program back on track. Hankins is a fine man but his brand of football won’t work here. Maybe a change will be made before this 9th grade class moves to varsity. Hopefully politics won’t get in the way of doing what’s right by these kids and what is left of this fanbase.

It’s only my third game watching them in several years but I just don’t understand the play calling. The defense will be fine in 5A but it won’t matter if the offense isn’t opened up. You’re going to get in games in South MS where you have to score points no matter how good your defense is and I’m just not not sure our personnel is being used correctly. We’ve gotta get the ball in our playmaker’s hands in space and there is no debating that. Fighting in a phone booth is fine if you’re a knockout artist but WC isn’t that right now.

Life just carried me away for a while. Moved out of state, got married and had kids. Just moved back to the state this year. Hankins was always a terrific coach at Thomasville and you have to hope he’ll have the same effect at WC. There is no excuse in 5A anymore. The next two seasons are do or die.

You’re right about West Jones. No one wants to see them down the stretch. That freshman QB is an athlete. Once he has a few more games under his belt, good luck doing much against WJ. If the team that shows up in Waynesboro shows up against Hattiesburg, I’ve got the Mustangs by 2-3 scores. Picayune vs WJ is gonna be a banger this year.

the receiver (12) is as good as I’ve seen in a while at Wayne County when it comes to route running and that QB can sling it. Hopefully that young core gels down the stretch. Laurel will be a good measuring stick of that.

I’ve been to two Wayne County games this season for the first time in over five years and I’m astonished at how far the level of play has fallen. I’ve heard really good things about Coach Hankins over the years. I know he’s a class act and likes to do things the right way, but shouldn’t this rebuild be further along in Year 3? From the little I’ve watched, it doesn’t seem like the talent is the issue. What am I missing? The facilities are top notch, the coaching staff seems to be strong and they have some playmakers. Why is it not coming together against good competition?
