My oldest step daughter lives right there where you go from Scott, to newton, to Mashona in like a mile stretch of road. Just east of sebastapol. We had this talk about a month ago where my grandkids would go. Maps have them just inside the corner of neshoba county but car tags are newton and they are about 6 minutes from sebastapol.

I have never paid much attention to West Point as they are not a team my team plays regularly. So all my info on them comes from here or reading various Facebook posts. And I remember that not many from WP were happy with Morgan being hired. I think most wanted another guy but I do not know name. I think it was a defensive coach. Someone posted a picture of him leaning against a tractor tire or something,! -
2003-2014 this place was hopping.

If I’m wrong in this I will accept all the smoke after. WJ wins by 20. Scott Pierson isn’t one to run up the score intentionally and I expect him to take his foot off the gas if west has comfortable lead. that in my opinion will be what keeps the score respectable. But I 110% think this is laurels least talented team in some few years. They graduated a lot of important pieces from last year and don’t have the athletes to fill the gaps. There have been seasons, like the last 3, where they honestly weren’t very good, but thanks to 5A south being what it is Laurel was able to piece together a couple a run to state game and a run to a second south state sandwiched around a 2 win season. This team won’t have the level of talent as any of those.
-
Laurel was trashed by graduation as much as no one wants to admit. I don’t think they got much of anything this year. Yes a win by low score would feel a bit discouraging. But we beat Terry 2-0 a year we win state, so.
-
I been waiting on someone else to start a WJ/Laurel thread, ideally a Laurel fan if they aren’t in hiding yet, so I won’t look too much like a home when I have WJ winning that game big. Possibly with a running clock.

I couldn’t care less bout the Starkville/Oak grove game but I would find it funny if oak grove won it. -

I don’t know man. There’s been lots of talk from people bout what Laurel may or may not have since spring. Outside of a handful Laurel diehards thinking it’s the second coming of their 07 team, everything else has been “nope they lost way too much”, “they too small this year” did not prepare me for what I saw last night. They got some speed but that’s it. -

Northeast Jones will not score 21 against South Jones. SJ will be ok on defense but NEJ is bad all over. I havnt seen their schedule but would not be surprised if they go winless. They may also win 3 or 4. But they are bad. WJ should beat Laurel by 3 scores. Laurel does not have the athletes they usually do. Most of those kids look 180 lbs if wet. They are in for bad times this year. -
Was told Northeast Jones lost 6-0 or 7-0 to Sumrall Laurel and Heidelberg was like a real game. Full stadium. Bands. I thought it was to be no touch the qb but laurels got crushed one play. This looks like the smallest Laurel team in memory. Lines were both bad. O line could not hold blocks d line could not do anything. Heidelberg was up 22 or 23 to 0 when stream ended.
-
Just had 50 yard td. West at Laurel next week. Corey Reynolds in the stands watching the game. NEJ and SJ got coaches in stands watching. West not putting on a show for them .
-
West indeed is subbing A Lot. O line in particular. Lots of short passes and bunches of runs. Not showing anything just same 4-5 plays. Seem to be trying to plug a hole on o line. Defense started subbing after 2 series.
-
Only way that happens is if west coaches never have more than half the starters on the field at a time and none more than like 4 plays. Due to not wanting to allow their first 3 regular season opponents (Laurel, nej, sj, in that order) to see what they working with.
-
My picks. Jones College Jamboree: West Jones over Seminary South Jones vs Magee I do not know who to pick. I don’t know enough about Magee but SJ lost majority of offensive production and I’m not confident they can overcome that. Sumrall over Northeast Jones. NEJ could be in for a very long year. 1 to 3 wins maybe. But 5A south is so weak they may get more. But I don’t see it. Heidelberg over Laurel. Laurel will have a few big linemen. Outside of that they are very thin and I honestly expect a bad year out of them. Fortunately for them they are in the mixed bag that is 5A south so perhaps they can somehow get a couple wins to make the season look more respectable.
-
South Jones won’t have much this year I don’t think.
-
Schedule is quiet weak. Petal did number on them last year so will have to see.
-
Depends on the petal game. They win that, then everyone will know.
-
Admit it. After the conversations around H’burg recruiting Tuesday as soon as you saw the thread title you felt uneasy. As soon as he named Hattiesburg you felt your cheeks tighten a bit.
-
Probably a warning not to get caught repeating or face postseason bans. But that’s just an assumption
-
Im sure I will after yall post the next one. Especially if it’s the offseason and I want to watch some football. I’ve quite enjoyed actually having a winning streak vs you guys.
-
I was watching one of the WC vs WJ games on YouTube the other listening to your play calling.
-
It absolutely does. Just as big an issue there as well. There’s a small school in north that would not have enough to field a team some years that recruited a state champion. Multiple coaches from different programs submitted evidence and MHSAA swept it under a rug because a big rig at mhsaa was an alum or has dome tie to the school.
