Have heard he is not the only one to have turned it down. Maybe someone knows for sure

Shorter from Louisville, Fair from Grenada, and the coach at West Point (his name slips my mind) have been offered the job and they all have turned it down. Not sure on Mitchell at Choctaw County.

Pancho, where does Starkville go next?

I'd be hard pressed to guess at the moment. I think a potential candidate doing his research on the superintendent might be a deterrent to a real quality hire. Mitchell has name recognition and some HC experience but 7A is a whole different animal.

So the superintendent really hard on coaches? I keep hearing alot of negative about him.

Usually in these cases, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If it’s one person saying this, it could be just that person’s experience. But when numerous people around there say this, it’s usually true.

I can’t say about now, but every coach I talked to when he was at Kosciusko said he was very supportive.

Yes.  It'll be the third coach in 3 years.  Maybe they can try to get Brannon back.  Who knows?

They had a really good coach over there that they ran off because a school board member wasn't getting his way.  Now Soules is at South Jones as the DC and its the first time they have had a winning season since Jimmy Carter was in office.

This is true. Soules had them competing. Good coach and a good guy too.
