Every school MDE had listed, even looking at middle schools that send kids that are currently 9th graders then 8th graders that feed specific high schools like in Jackson. Remember these are 2025 posted numbers subject to change. Private schools are posted on World news and report.
-
Your correct they were posted on MDE in December 2025. As to the exact date and formula I do not know. Formula being was it a number posted on a specific date, rolling monthly average on or around October 1 each year.

Drop to region 3 or be a 7 team region. That would most likely Madison Central or Clinton or even maybe Warren Central dropping to region 3.

I am not at home to look at my 2025 numbers after the 1.5 multis in place. But I believe it may be: 4A/3A cutoff 324 with Louisville dropping down 3A/2A cutoff is 214 with Clarkdale staying 2A forcing Noxubee, Louisville, or Yazoo County to come south, only 1 of those 3 come south. 2A/1A cutoff i believe is around 145. I will confirm when I get home but based only on what MDE showed in 2025 numbers 4A-1A.

2025 numbers are 1A

Remember the 5, 6, 7, team regions are in play for 5A/6A/7A.

Just my guess is you avoid dealing homecoming parades and Friday game preparing by getting the info sent in on a Monday. It will be interesting to see how the 1.5 multiplier changes some schools classification. Also those who gained and those lost kids that puts them in a different classification up or down.

The link to reclassification was sent to principal emails today. If necessary have superintendent, principal, and athletic director meet to make sure is feeled out correctly and submitted with September's enrollment by September 21st, 2026. Last day to update form is September 28th, 2026.

Clarkdale is 3-0, you will have to play your best to beat Bay Springs and Mize. I don't see 3-1 unless you outplay your opponent weekly. Union is obviously down this year.

Rain in Myrtle game could have finished but didn't

That would leave 209 schools. Obviously we would have to go back to 6 classes. If we were divide by: 6A 24 or 20 5A 24 or 20 4A 35 or 37 3A 35 or 37 2A 35 or 37 1A 36 or 38 5 classes 5A 32 or 24 4A 32 or 24 3A 46 or 53 2A 46 or 53 1A 47 or 55 I don't see another way to be fair. My guess is many of those 1A non football schools will be consolidated with plenty of athletes to play football.

7 classes created this debacle of playing out of state because 7 other schools with an open date same week chooses the open date over playing the game. It also looks forces Mt Olive open same week we are to choose not to play. Forest chose not to play because the coach and possibly his players get their feelings hurt by an opposing team being better than they are.
-
Let's go back to 6 or 7 schools per region in 1A-4A and i think you eliminate open dates by the time you play your non region rivalry games. Otherwise you have coach Higdon hanging on to playing D'Iberville and whomever he get to replace Forest in an open date situation. Perhaps if we might be fortunate to play Seminary and JDC in non region should they get stuck back in Region 8. Especially if the 1.5 multiplier bumps up PCS, St Patrick, and St Andrew's to 4A or 5A. I expect 3A schools will shift to the south some degree. It wouldn't surprise me that we end up with Louisville, Noxubee, or Yazoo County wilk shift south. 1A should stay 4 regions instead of 8. The coaches are forcing themselves with 7 classes to play larger schools. Honestly 8 regions in 7 classes leaves 1 school with an open every week per class. So if PCS has to play Columbia Academy in week one or Mobile Christian like this year then it is because of 7 classes. Higdon called 3 coaches with open dates October 9th after Forest pulled out. No one wanted to play Raleigh. No one. If we keep trending in that direction you will continue to see Higdon and Mancuso fill their schedule with a large MAIS school. I expect the other coaches to do the same or go out of state.

Week 3 Games that we will learn the most from....

Their best bet is to score from 20 yards out. Last year Raleigh got flag after and scored but it was called back inside the 15. -

Region 2 6A schools had no open date the last 5 weeks of the schedule without everyone redoing their schedules. MHSAA should have them play an independent schedule for 1 year. Hopefully North Tippah, Leflore County Central will both began play in region play in 2027. And yes Greenwood, Amanda Elzy, and Leflore County are consolidating as one with a new school being built as I write. Exact name of the school well I made that up keeping in line Holmes County Central. The district name happens to be Greenwood Laflore County School District. Maybe the coaches didn't want to redo all the schedules with an open date and probably having to play Leake Central's old opponents. MHSAA should have had all the AD's of both sitting in Clinton and hashed out schedules. At that point who would Vicksburg play. A long trip to West Lauderdale might not have them happy but it was an option obviously. I t was the timing I suppose since Leake County could have waited to July 1, 2027 to officially consolidate. -

Region games in week 2? -
Road blocks everywhere tonight. I believe i would have ran over the chief if weren't for kacki pants and a small flashlight. They picked a dark spot on 28 between Walmart entrance and 49 red-light. No yellow vest and black shirts.
