  1. Public schools will lose a lot more money than what most parents pay in land taxes. You would have to own a mansion or a thousand acres to pay in $6500 dollars.
  2. Attala, Holmes, Leake, Carroll Counties so no MAIS schools within his district except maybe Holmes Christian. Durant and Vaiden but not west or south of Durant and not west of Vaiden. Only that area of Holmes County along and just west of I-55. Only Kosciusko and Leake Central zones in those 2 counties. Thomastown, Walnut Grove, McAdams, Ethel not in his district and only a portion of SE Carroll County.
  3. This goes into affect fall of 2027. We won't see the affects this next reclassification cycle.
  4. Wilkinson Christian in MAIS Adams County Christian in MAIS Parklane in McComb in MAIS North Pike, South Pike, McComb, Franklin County, Natchez who knows academic wise. Brookhaven and Lincoln County. Louisiana schools maybe. Centerville Academy in Wilkinson County That's just off the top of my head. Tking that $6500 out of state might become an issue Jason White doesn't want to here. Most of those kids probably qualify.
  5. What this bill does is allowed for the poor district school in the Delta being forced to allow students to transfer without say. Losing federal and state dollars is a soar subject to many principal ans superintendent. A student lost is thousand dollars lost to pay the bills. I still say this will eventually lead to more consolidation of schools with MAIS repeing the benefit. Dollars will be lost to homeschooled dropouts that amount to nothing much unless mom and dad make the kids get a job.
  6. I don't forsee the kids that really needing leaving their home school. These Delta principals, superintendents, and representatives will inform their students not apply to keep federal and state dollars at home. In Magee and maybe Mt Olive it will be the poor white kids heading for Simpson, Mize, Raleigh, and Puckett.
  7. Raleigh will get their share.
  8. The state dept of education has taken over the school district. No fiancial audit since June 2022. Failing grades 8 if the last 11 years rated an F.
  9. HB 2 narrowly passed 61-59 & 2 not voting. Amotion has made to reconsider the bill. The bill does not allow for the students current district to gave a say in the transfer. MHSAA will have the say in athletic transfers. The democrats unanimously voted against it. APPXa dozen or so Republicans voted against it. So it will be on the calendar today for a rediscussion and revote.
  10. Breaking News: Apparently the State Senate isn't interested in allowing state funds to funneled to private schools.
  11. South Jones will be in Region 3 or 4 and you have your 25 schools. 7A 24 6A 24 5A 25 4A 40 3A 41 2A 40 1A 46?

  15. the1-Less than 1500 students in a district with multiple schools consolidate the schools or consolidate the counties. 82 is too many counties. 2-Counties with less than 3500 students and multiple districts then consolidate the district offices.
  16. Attala County up to 2A Leake Central up to 5A
  17. Million dollar question? Who wants to apply who is willing to work for Bubba? Who does Bubba want to work for him?
  18. I just hope MHSAA is involved in talks regarding by laws on recruiting, transferring, and homeschooling participation in sports.
  19. Watching the news and their are 18 different issues with the House Bill. The black caucus is opposed to the bill and hoping to keep it passing at 2/3 vote. They want to vote on individual issues. Apparently medicade is in the bill and I wonder why.
