  1. Their trying to come to Raleigh too. Just tells me there a problems.
  2. Honestly Mize will probably draw some of the Mt Olive students who moved into the area as a means to avoid Collins. I do believe closing Taylorsville will be a last resort by Smith County to even discuss the closure of schools. Raleigh was only built for 750 students. If both high schools moved to Raleigh a new Junior high wing will have to be built or move it back to the elementary. Then keep Mize and Taylorsville at PreK thru 8th.
  3. They have Nanih Waiya, Connehatta, Bogue Chitto, and Bogue Hommo off the top of my head.
  4. Mize is around 850 PK-12 if I am reading correctly according to US News and World Report. I am having trouble pulling up MDE numbers. My guess is you close Taylorsville High and split the students mostly to Mize to put Mize over the 1000 mark.
  5. That leaves 203 schools: 6 Classes 5 Classes 6A 24. XX 5A 24. 32 4A 32. 32 3A 32. 40 2A 40. 48 1A 51. 51
  6. The legislative committee met Thursday with discussion of consolidation of districts or schools due to lower enrollment. Their target is 27 known schools under 1,000 students in PreK thru 12th grades. An additional 7 schools just over 1,000 students. All i can say is good by Mt Olive among others. Anyone have names of those 34? It's obvious this will force MHSAA to go back to 5 or 6 classes? Or start recruiting schools!!
  7. Boarding schools are doubled. I somehow want to say they are plenty of Choctaw around Philadelphia that many lived with parents.
  8. That's correct unless they are 8 on the coast. Never mind projections are; Region 3: South Jones, Wayne County, Natchez, Florence, Laurel, Brookhaven, North Pike Region 4: Gautier, Stone County, Vancleave, East Central, St Patrick
  9. St Patrick's number for October 2025 US News and World Report for October 2025 makes them likely 5A. Travel the coast it will be unless they go Region 3. Region 3 will send them to Natchez and Brookhaven travel it is. The deadline to move to MAIS may be past if the current reclassification runs thru 2027.
  10. Correction: St Patrick to 5A but I will recheck OLA to 4A Louisville top 4A pending an adjustment up.
  11. 2024 numbers School. # 1.5 St Patrick. 316. 474. 4A *St Stanislaus 316. 474 4A PCS. 256. 384. 4A St Andrew's. 226. 339. 4A *OLA. 212. 318. 3A Sacred Heart. 161. 241.5 3A **MSMS. 127. 190.5 2A TCPS. 127. 190.5 2A Resurrection. 114. 171. 2A French Camp. 92. 138. 1A Piney Woods. 48. 72. 1A **MSD. ?? ?? 1A * 2.0 multiplier already added St Stanislaus may be adjusted down to 227 or 3A OLA may be adjusted down to 159 1A ** State schools with special needs or math/science's
  12. My numbers for October 2025 now puts both schools in 4A. I did have Booneville as the smallest 4A school. Now they get rid of PCS Classification wise.
  13. Been around since the 80s. If St Andrew's has 200 students for reclassification their official number is 300.
  14. According to one popular Facebook page the 1.5 multiplier will be enforced on the upcoming 2027-29 Reclassification period coming this fall for private schools playing in MHSAA.
  15. Forest posted their schedule with open date October 9. Coach Hig at Raleigh contacted 3 other coaches and was turned down. The schools i am aware of October 9th are Forest, Columbia, Raleigh, Hazlehurst, St Patrick, and Mt Olive.
  16. Mississippi St is taking advantage of every possible opportunity to recruit players they need. They see this as an advantage to get ahead. Only time will tell if it works. And yes they need all the help they can. They are also trying to get their graduates as high school coaches especially central Ms.
  17. I read somewhere last year they are going after it every year. If so its looking for players or diamonds in the rough so to speak for recruiting. And yes they do need help in certain areas possibly in coaching.
  18. Tylertown, coach will remain as AD and track coach.
  19. That's why their numbers were down in October of 2025. They can soon be 1A.
  20. AHSFHS web site for each school Artesia Bulldogs 1932-1952
  21. If you look a school on say Maben or Weir on AHSAA you will be able to see their all-time opponents.
  22. Scott Academy became Scott Central White Oak(Smith County) played football in the 40s. Rankin Academyat Star now part of McLaurin
  23. I think JDC will settle into mediocrity for a few years. Dangerous with the head coach but not scary. It may be that they have mostly Prentiss talent and less Bassfield talent. They have definitely fallen off.
  24. Pelahatchie 24-0, so much for the stalemate. Probably should have been 30 plus to 0.
