Morton has athletes just not as many. The white kids are small or they go to East Rankin. The Hispanic kids don't help much at all. They will never get back to the Little Dixie Days those guys have left and never came back. They will always be 4-6 to 8-2 at best. We will see weak 4 vs Raleigh. I am guessing Pelahatchie has dropped them unless they play weak 2-4.

Several of these could be spots for smaller classification HC to move up or a coordinator from a school.

 

Greene Co and Houston are probably the best two from a competitive standpoint. 

Ethel, Long Beach, and St Martin have struggled a lot.

 

Clinton and Center Hill are in very tough regions.

 

North Pike struggling in 5A.

 

Heard Puckett might not win a game the next year or two.

Puckett might can get 2 to 4 wins this year. Pelahatchie, McLaurin, Mt Olive are possible and likely wins. It depends whose toting the ball and OL. OL is a big if.

Been told it’s pretty much a formality. Was told from the beginning it’s Harville’s to decline. Heard that was the first interview as well.

Harville, Kirk Academy, HC, and an in county assistant is all I know for CH. Clinton should be attractive to some big names. Have a guy or two on staff with successful HC experience too.

Wouldn’t hurt for Clinton to give it to Morgan. He’s been loyal and stayed at Clinton after many programs have come after him. Pretty dang good ball coach too.

Morgan or Peterson would both be a good option. 
Rumor was Boswell had a short list, but they had several on that list that turned them down last year.

Don’t think they beat pelahatchie, and may not beat McLaurin. They can beat Mount Olive .

It depends on the coach, the opponent, the QB, OL, DL. They desperately need a line coach.

Speaking of East Rankin, their football job is open. They started interviews last week.

Well, George County is fixing to reopen.. Collier is out after Superintendent resigned over the weekend. I will not go too deep into details, but Collier has left. George is going to have to post job again.

I would not be surprised if King ends up at George County now that the Superintendent is gone.

He’s out the door.  The board was quick to pull the trigger when they  hired Shows.  I think they will promote from within. However, we need someone from outside the District IMO.

I don’t think they were necessarily quick to appoint Shows, it was a 6 month or longer process. I’m pretty sure it will not be anyone from within. I’ve heard 2 potential names. Neither one is currently employed with the School District but they both have former ties with the District.

I think that USM job is hers to lose.  I don’t think Bilderback would have left Columbia had McNelis at USM retired sooner, so this honestly makes sense.
