Have heard rumors of 1A going back to 10 team regions.

Their HFC retired. Brand new school, weightroom for only football, brand new turf field, Jumbotron, etc…. Lots to like about this job except not a ton of talent. Last HFC punched above their weight class a lot to get some wins.

Saw where Merchant was headed to Gulfport as DC. Another open HFC job.

They should have a good short list to start from. Shorter Peterson Morgan Who Else???

The MHSAA usually only investigates if a complaint is made or if something on the transfer form looks off, not living with parents, moving from House to an apartment, whole family didn’t move, etc…. A lot of times they send someone from the school to check on it. They should have someone outside the schools investigating anything like this posted on Twitter and check it more than once. I’ve seen both sides where a kid I thought should be eligible made ineligible and a kid (at my school) I thought should be ineligible made eligible.

Swa on twitter where their HFC stepped down. They usually have some good athletes.

Why would they leave though. One is coaching at his alma mater with the field named after his dad and just won a state title, the other is at West Point and will probably win many State Championships to go to a place that is nice but has never won a State title, can’t just give you what you want because of being in a larger district with like 8 high schools. Plus you have to deal with the recruiting that JA/MRA/Hartfield are gonna do. Even Pennock and Bramlett would be wise to think long and hard before taking it. Gulfport is about to build an on campus stadium and they will play each other for the 1-2 seed every year right now.

Im sure this will generate a ton of inside and outside the state interest but I bet they have one person in mind and will try and give him whatever he wants!

First week is Helmets only, could go helmets and shoulder pads on that first Saturday. 2nd week is helmets and shoulder pads only. Even if you go on Saturday you don’t get to go full pads after five days but have to go the whole week in shells only. So the first day of full pads would be the Saturday after the second week. so 10 days of practice at a minimum before full pads. The old rule was 5 days of practicing and then full pads. 2 days helmets, 3 days shells, 6th day full pads.

I know of at least one middle school have a scrimmage/jamboree something tonight. After the MHSAA made HS’s move all of theirs to Thursday. How does an MHSAA assigning secretary assign officials if it’s against the rules. They might should take care of some internal issues like this, unless its ok for middle schools to break the 14 day acclimization but not HS.

The stupid thing in the rule is it says you can’t where a football jersey during week 1. Tell me how many teams went out without a practice jersey on during the first week. I would bet close to zero!

Yeah that would be my guess also. I know they caught a few of the ones on the latest report off social media or the news.

There might be some more coming down. I know several that were on social media wearing girdles during week 2 that aren’t on that list yet.

I was under impression this was for football practice and soccer. That football games would still be played at NE. Probably why the bleachers are so small.

That was with a HFC who had his son with him as a starting QB. I’d love to see him get it turned around but just a tough place to win.
