Last I heard they were down to 2-3. Figure they will announce soon. Ethel hasn’t announced from what I have seen. Puckett??? George County 2nd go round. St Martin?? who else is still open?? Did Center Hill hire someone yet?

Jason Russell would be that name.

Looks like Kirk Academy is open. Former player leaving after playing for a State title in back to back years. Someone is getting a good young coach it looks like.

Yeah I thought the same thing last year as well. You had two very good candidates on staff. Promote one and move on.

Clinton promoted DC Hamer Morgan to HFC. With this one filled what all jobs are still open?

That would be a sucky way to find out you’re no longer the HC. Awfully quite with this many jobs still open.

I’m pretty sure they have atleast one coordinator who has HC experience. Isn’t Causey on staff?? Was the HC at Cleveland before they consolidated.

Morgan or Peterson would both be a good option. Rumor was Boswell had a short list, but they had several on that list that turned them down last year.

Several of these could be spots for smaller classification HC to move up or a coordinator from a school. Greene Co and Houston are probably the best two from a competitive standpoint. Ethel, Long Beach, and St Martin have struggled a lot. Clinton and Center Hill are in very tough regions. North Pike struggling in 5A. Heard Puckett might not win a game the next year or two. Any names being thrown around any of these??

I don't he is quite 70 yet. Coached at Hinds, think he was also on staff at Delta State when they won there National Title back in the day.

They have atleast one guy on staff that has been a Head Coach before and coached at the college level. Would think he would atleast get a look.

Who are some names to look for here?? Desoto County schools but district isn’t real friendly for football.

Will that be because he takes the George County job?

That’s what it looks like but haven’t seen it official anywhere.

Usually for a HC job a district will let you out of your contract.
