  1. 100 percent I was just trying to really show that with 7 7A programs in 3 counties the difference.
  2. Which adds to a new question. Per some of the changes that had been made and were communicated, a student had to be enrolled and everything complete prior to starting the offseason for them to participate over the summer. Also, must be nice to have that many D1 recruits on one team. Not sure there are that many commits/recruits in all 3 coastal counties some years.
  3. Likely not but if it's MC or NW Rankin taking your players or vice versa I can see where it causes issues. Think about on the coast where all the 7A schools are within 40 miles of each other, there are always schools filing complaints on transfers down here.
  4. He needs to reach out to Gulfport for the QB connection. Tell Wyatt to find him a QB and one magically appears for a state title run. Keep their out of state house get the parent a job in the district and find them a place to live.. Done deal.
  5. They have done it in the past Some teams it will next to impossible for them to compete. St. Pats wouldn't be able to compete in 5A outside of soccer. Resurrection almost didn't have enough kids to finish football in 1A shifting to 2A will be tough for them too. With the new 5/7 setup they may not have to shift to Region 3.
  6. Supposedly a few are saying they will go independent to give them more time.
  7. If Hancock keeps growing like it has been they will be on the verge of 7A in the next two cycles.
  8. The mess is going to be that they are required to change schools until the enter a new level. If they are already at the HS they can stay there but if they are entering 9th grade they have to shift. Plus there is a ton of new developments that would have been in St. Martin that will now be in Vancleave.
  9. St Martin is losing close to a hundred students maybe more starting next school year. The county redrew the district lines and are shifting students to Vancleave. Highly likely they both end up in 6A.
  10. Karma on more than one level
  11. There is a bill in the legislature but not sure where it's at right now that calls for a study and numbers to be turned in for possible consolidations through out the state starting in 28 I think it was.
  12. I guess they could but they still aren't receiving money from the state, it would just be a way for a business to send money and get tax credits.
  13. I just read through that entire thing and I must be missing something. That's a tax credit bill that allows a business, industry, etc to donate and claim tax credits to 501 c 3 organizations that provide for under priveleged children.
  14. I haven't heard of anyone complaining about the vote/release. Most the time it doesn't even make it to the school board, the release/paperwork is handled lower, or if it does it's lumped in to a mass vote.
  15. Right now for a student to go from the district they live in to another district they have to be released by the school board of the current school and accepted by the new one. The law they are attempting to pass removes the ability of the current school to hold them and limits the reasons the new one can use to not accept. Again the transfer rules are already selectively enforced. We see it on the coast all the time.
