The picture they keep using for the league is a map of all gulf states including Mississippi. The MAIS was very close to merging with AISA just a few years ago. They even came together and created the SECIS along with the GISA. If all the large private schools in the south get together and create an association it could shift the system entirely.
Alabama and Florida panhandle schools are launching a new organization the Gulf States Independent Athletic Association. You guys think this will impact Mississippi independent schools or the MAIS?
That was a decade ago... NC stopped releasing kids in their district to other schools.
They will consolidate if the state mandates it, which is possible, but I doubt it happens otherwise.
There are plenty of students in the surrounding area. Doesn’t change the fact that they have on campus dorms for students who are not from within the area.
He claimed there should be no confusion and then gave a very confusing explanation of the rule. I assume it’s something to do with high school coaches coaching travel/AAU ball.
