If they don’t hire from within, who are some names that would or could be considered?

Carr says it’s the best job in the state. Went 6-5 last season. Arguably the toughest division in 7A. Other than $, could be tough to attract a HC who is already winning where they’re at unless it’s at a lower level and wants to make the 7A jump.

Who were the finalists for the job last offseason?

Looks like it. But 3 winning seasons and a .500 year in his last season at biloxi. Better than the elite coaches that have used them for $$ and tucked tail after losing a while collecting the check. Point is, it should be a red flag for a potential quality hire. What does success at biloxi look like? My guess is it looks like French’s tenure. Maybe winning a playoff game is the next step. But gonna take some time I’d think.

Maybe hiring “elite” coaches at the end of their careers isn’t the answer. I’d start with asking why they ran of Coach French. Seems like everyone on this thread is ignoring his tenure. Which by Biloxi standards was successful.

Things have changed. Desoto County and Misshsaa has cracked down on out of state transfers coming in since those days. Also 4 different public schools’ zones cross over Olive Branch city limits. (OB, Center Hill, Lewisburg, or Desoto Central) That’s not counting Collierville, TN who has 4 starters who played at Olive Branch or Center Hill and transferred recently.

Brandon, how do we feel about the hire? Do we know who else interviewed?

Tough to poach a up and coming coordinator if he knows their talent is down and the division is already tough.

Richland went 2-9 and their guy was the first choice? Who would you have hired at Puckett?

Surprised the AD position isn’t separate from HFC position. Helps increase HFC $$$ when combined, but that’s a lot of responsibility throughout the year. Especially at a 7A program, at a school where all sports expect to be successful year in and year out.

Interesting move to say the least. Not familiar with UMS-Wright. Anyone have any inside info as to what led to coach’s decision?

Who are other names for Center Hill job? Any names for Clinton? Would think they can offer substantial $ to get a big name. But tough division as stated earlier.

Harville seems to be a part of multiple job searches this offseason. I know two years of HC experience at Horn Lake. Any coordinating experience? What’s makes him a top choice here lately?
