He is my top pick for the job. I'm trying to convinced AD for Shorter. I do know he is trying to leave Louisville. So many names I seen and heard for the job. It’s not someone that the principal will select and they roll with it. There are a lot of positions that will have input. Choosing wrong will not be that easy to avoid. Just seeing all the comments and well wishes from the players he has coached from his days at Charleston, past and present from Hattiesburg, from his peers in the coaching profession and the media should tell you that he is a good coach and a good man. As far as me being inside the building, that is not in my department. I have a regular 40hr week full time job. I am not a Hattiesburg school employee or coach. Vance is a great guy but my point is to find a coach who can elevate the talent and scheme better will be better in the long run. I agree with a few people that a lot of stuff goes on at Hattiesburg outside of the X's and O's, and he has done a great job with that part. Could he have won one I am not sure but he will go down as one of the better to have coached there. Congrats on your retirement coach. As far as his replacement yes they will have to get the money up. Currently, the A.D. part is not included in the job, and that's when he made his most money.
