Yeah I believe Pennock probably takes that honor now. I’ve seen the pay scale at Bay. It’s not 6 figures.
-
Yeah, you're not making six figures at Bay. OS, Gulfport, Biloxi. Those are the three probably closest to 6 figures and I may throw Pass in there because their local supplement is really good but Bay ain't raking in 6 figures.
-
At this point we all believe you're Lane Brady.
-
Well if he's applied for Moss Point then I'd assume he's applied or will apply at other places as well.
-
And I wasn't necessarily aware of the Harmon backlash but at this point he looks good. I posted the other day that in their past 152 games they are 56-96. In the previous 258 games they were 192-66. Those 152 games featured 6 different coaches while the 258 were only two in Alexander and Sims.
-
I agree. I'm just curious if he will or not.
-
Personally, I can see Harmon coming back. I think Murphy is going through a change in Mobile and if they allow him to stay retired, I can see it. Also, maybe a coach from the Hinds County area plus an out of state guy. Moss Point can be an attractive job. I personally don't see the Taylorsville guy as the favorite. Doesn't mean he isn't or won't get the job, I will say it's a surprising candidate IMO.
-
Then it has to be Mize or Taylorsville HC. I don't see those being the favorites.
-
Also real curious about Gautier. I know High has his years in. Playing for a state title, 30 or so seniors, Mr 5A Football at QB all leaving. Does he retire?
-
But he wasn’t the head coach.
-
So, will we see any more movement on the coast after this week?
-
If Louisville can throw the ball well then Poplarville will be in trouble.
-
I just can't figure out whether to take you serious or not
-
Lane Brady quickly becoming a name that pops up on every search or is that just a joke that's running on here?
-
In the past 152 games Moss Point is 56-96. The 258 games prior to that they were 192-66. Pretty stark difference. Also in that 258 game stretch MP had two HCs. The most recent 152 games, SIX HCs.
-
Meh, this Louisville team is better and that Poplarville team was better.
-
Thing is, Louisville could literally win 1A-7A. They're that good.

GC is third on the hypothetical list. Pay at the other schools are more and at GC the HC has to cut the grass on the field and paint and take care of all that stuff on top of it where the turf schools cut out a ton of hours that a coach or staff would have to work on top of getting more pay. Athletes are great but probably not as consistent as a Goula or Gautier when it comes to having athletes year in and out but overall it's a great town and school with great people.

Rankings based on the hypotheticals discussed on the coast: *Note* some of these jobs are just rumored on here to open up. I listed those that were discussed. Only two are currently open and may be the only ones that in fact open up. 1. Gautier- Athletes, Pay, Facilities, Support 2. Goula- Athletes, Pay, Facilities, Support 3. George County- Athletes, Working Environment, Students are great, high expectations, Fan Support. 4. Hancock- On the Coast, 6A, I'd assume pay is decent, traditionally bad. 5. Bay- Not a ton of tradition, stadium isn't on campus, has turf field, pay isn't the greatest. 6. Moss Point- Would take a pretty monumental turnaround IMO, athletes, pay isn't awful. Now, a real list of best jobs on the coast if I listed all 1. OS 2. Gautier 3. Goula 4. Gulfport 5. Picayune 6. D'Iberville 7. George County 8. Biloxi 9. Poplarville 10. West Harrison 11. Vancleave 12. East Central 13.Hancock 14. PRC 15. Saint Martin 16. Harrison Central 17. Stone 18. Bay 19. Moss Point 20. Long Beach 21. SSC 22. St. Patrick I may have missed a school or two. Teams kinda ran together on me. Didn't realize there were this many on the coast until I started listing them.
-
Yes or go to Resurrection. But that job isn't open either but that's always been a rumor.
-
Depends. Some head coaches are also athletic directors. Not all. There has been a movement away from that though.
-
Kind of odd that Hancock is open.
-
PRC is actually closer to the Jackson schools by about 10 miles. That's why they went to that region last time. Seems like the MHSAA decided to flip it this year to appease PRC for two years. Probably gonna see a PRC/GC flip every two years.
-
Well, it was a stop route or what some would say a comeback. A post is to the middle of the field at the “post” lol.

If some of the stuff is true about Meridian moving down then it may be them.
