State continues to play really well. You hope they’re not peaking too early but heck I’ll take this over whatever the heck 2022 and 2023 were.

State is 15th nationally in ERA, they were 236th last year. Justin Parker is dang near a miracle worker.

It seems to have certainly started to all come together for this team. After the big road series win last week,

could have easily expected a let down, but they came out and played like it was a regional elimination game.

No reason to think that they won't play well again today either, but today is probably more about how Bama responds.

Don’t see how they miss it now. No worse than 3rd now in the West. If LSU wins tonight or Sunday, they can move up to 2nd by winning the A&M series. Then you may be talking about a top 8 seed.

Crazy how fast things turned around for this team.

Don’t look now, but Ole Miss and LSU both won the first two games of their series and are both 9-14 now, tied with Bama. The bubble hopes are not completely dead for either one and that series in Baton Rouge in two weeks could be very significant for the winner.

My gosh I have never seen a college team worse at catcher than Ole Miss this year. Words cannot describe how they just gave away Game 3.

We gots no hind catcher. But that was also a stupid substitution decision from our head ball coach. I'm just shocked I tell you.

With Mizzou’s loss yesterday, State has officially clinched a spot in Hoover. We will see if they do anything there this time around, I believe State has one win in Hoover since 2017, and it was that 17 inning marathon game against LSU.

If they can get to 17 plus wins I feel like they will go to Hoover with the intention of getting a couple of wins, just to secure hosting. In '21 there was no reason to use your best pitchers because the national seed was locked in before Hoover.

We are still on track for State vs Ole Miss in Hoover, for whatever that’s worth. OM will still likely sneak in as they have a two game lead on Mizzou for the final spot. A&M coming to Oxford this weekend though, and I think A&M might be the best team in the country this year. Would not shock me if OM gets swept and then making Hoover is suddenly more iffy if Mizzou takes care of Auburn.

State is pretty firmly stuck in the 5-6-7 range unless they win the Arkansas series and then sweep Mizzou. They could certainly sweep Mizzou but I’m not over optimistic about winning a series in Fayetteville. Think you’d be totally fine with 1 out of 3 this weekend.

One win in FYV would be a win for State. Two wins would be awesome but not expected at all.
Arkansas has great pitching but they don’t necessarily score a lot of runs. So it is very possible that all three games will be close and lower to mid-scoring type games. Hopefully we can win one or two…

I predict Ole Miss wins one game against Aggie maybe even two. Why? Just because the SEC is weird like that. Lot of pressure on A&M whereas Ole Miss can just go out and play ball. Conventional wisdom says a sweep by Aggie but  I just don’t see it happening.

USM helped themselves immensely last week with a sweep over Coastal. They are on the road at Arkansas State this weekend who is quite frankly not very good. But it is on the road. USM needs to win two. A sweep would be really good but it is hard to sweep a team on the road. They have put themselves in good position to make a Regional. Just need to continue to take care of business.

If State were to pull off a win in Fayetteville, it would probably need to be the Friday or Saturday game.  Ideally you'd want to win the Friday game, but it's all going to depend upon a quality start by Stephen and also being able to get some timely hits with the Arkansas ace and tapping into their pen around the 6th inning.
