Stephen was a great find in the portal and I definitely did not see Friday night ace in him based off his Purdue numbers. His career ERA before this year was over 6. He’s had two rough starts but every other outing from him has been very good.

Well also I think another part of it is, is having that Friday night veteran ace.  Someone who’s faced adversity, been through the wars and forged stronger because of it.  He certainly checked all the boxes tonight.

The SEC is perplexing this year.

Who had Kentucky being 13-1 at this point?

How about LSU/Ole Miss/Auburn (and likely Bama before the weekend is over) all having 10+ SEC losses before the midpoint of conference play?

State is firmly 3rd in the West right now. Two games behind second place but three games ahead of fourth place.

Guys, y’all don’t get too juiced up about your pitching. We could make a third grader look like a pro.

Trust us. None of us are too juiced up about State’s pitching. This team lost to the mighty Governor’s of Austin Peay and the Bears of Central Arkansas…

But the pitching this year has been a pleasant surprise. The biggest improvement (IMO) is that we are throwing strikes and limiting the number of BB’s.

And we won the first game. There are still two more games upcoming. Pleased with the win but we all know that it is only ONE win.

And on the other diamond the State ladies run ruled #4 Tennessee last night. Which was a first ever for the program over a top five team.
Again it is only one game but this team if they continue to play at this level are putting themselves in position to host a regional.

Our SEC ERA was like 10 last year, you’re dang right I’m gonna get juiced up over merely being middle of the pack.

LOL, last year we were run ruled at least once every weekend or more or so it seemed. This year’s competitiveness has been refreshing. I think we have only been blown out a couple of games all year, the other losses being closely contested games.

This year feels like a dream compared to the last two when we were losing 7 inning games 27-2 or 26-3.

The ending to this one is shaping up to be wild. State blew a 7-3 lead in the 8th, and Ole Miss just lost a runner at third base in the 9th with no outs. Now on to extras.

Both teams probably feel like they should’ve won already. State blew the lead and left a ton of guys on base, OM gift wrapped a few runs for State.

That was a disaster of a baseball game for anyone who had the misfortune of watching it. Ugly as all get out. State’s bullpen is atrocious in clutch time. Literally blew 3 different leads from the 8th inning on.

I have no idea who wins tomorrow. And it may be a 20-19 final score. I don’t think Ole Miss is very good, and I honestly have no idea what to make of State. They show flashes of being good but cannot string together two good days in a row. This will be the 5th Sunday rubber game in a row for State.

Well, OM sucks so y’all certainly should win. Of course you should also be playing without your starting catcher today as well so…

Long is 100% a pro wrestling heel and plays it up big time. Like Shawn Michaels wiping his butt with the Canadian flag in Montreal levels of heeling. I fully expect Ole Miss to throw at him today and I can’t say I wouldn’t understand why. Lol.

This is a big game for hot seat purposes, and I would say especially for Lenonis. State fans will lose their minds if they drop this series, especially after winning Game 1 convincingly and then blowing it so many times last night.

state has little pitching left for today. I have yet to see video footage of the bat thrown toward the ole miss dugout. college kids running their mouth happens every game.  bianco fired his team up and it paid off when he was tossed.  No different if the roles were reversed.
