Vance forced his son into being the main focus of their offense from the first series and didn’t really try to involve their skill players . His ego envisioned making him MVP and multiple highlight reels. He deserves every bit of the criticism coming his way. He can’t get over the hump because he is not a good coach. He had no answer when Grenada figured them out halfway through the first quarter.. Ever since he came on the scene down here I couldn’t stand him. Hell, nobody outside of there does He’s the perfect Hattiesburg Tiger. this is mst tonight4 points

Shannon blew a 16-0 halftime lead. A 17 point lead with 5 mins left in the 3rd. Was outscored 14-0 in 4Q. Failed to convert on 4th down late in 4Q that would’ve sealed the game. Let West Lauderdale march down the field 92 yards in 1:20 and failed to defend a 45 yard Hail Mary as time expired. Prob need to look at someone else at fault instead of the refs.3 points

The thing that really grinds my gears is when these guys announce they’re going into the transfer portal, they end it with #GodsPlan. I don’t think God told you to go to 4 different colleges in 4 years. Doubt he said thou shalt chase the bag my son.2 points

This job isn't nearly as daunting as many would have you believe. Talent is still existent even the transfers to surrounding school districts, and Moss Point is almost always bound to pick up a few transfers each year as well. This was the case this past season, and those players (four, to be exact) are all underclassmen who will return and make solid contributions to the team as long as they continue to be a part of it. Make no mistake about it- there are strong names involved in this current search. Coach Bridges had a very difficult job this past season, but he did all that he could for the kids, the school, and the city that he loves. He is a good coach who cares greatly about Tiger athletics. Moss Point isn't light years away from having another shot at success, and this city doesn't deserve all of the negative talk that it has received for so long.2 points

Coach Fair has changed the entire culture of our community not just the program. One of the best men and coaches the sport has to offer. He has won championships at Grenada, Lafayette, Pillow Academy and multiple at South Panola with Ricky Woods. A lot of people don’t realize this either but Ricky Woods is our Offensive Coordinator.2 points

I’m just glad it’s on display for everyone to see like we in the pine belt have for years. Discipline wins titles not smoke and mirrors.2 points

If he thought his team to be more disciplined he wouldn’t have to complain at the officials so much.2 points

Rob is the OC at Warren Central; Brett is WP's coach2 points

No doubt. They had their chances early on. West Point made things extremely difficult for Irving at times. He played as well as he could have given the situation. He kept them in it.2 points

I have not said it does not matter. I stated that it is not as big of an issue as you are making it to be. Again, I understand why you are in favor of it. Grenada is more relevant than they have ever been. You have 2 State title and 3 south state appearances only in school history. Most of that was accomplished due to the state going to 7 classes. You are bias for a reason.2 points

Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Texas all have similar number disparities. Louisville would beat 80% of the 6A and 7A schools despite being half their size. School size is not as big of a deal as some make it. I get why you do make it one being a Grenada fan.2 points

This makes way too much sense. That's why it'll never happen.2 points

It’s funny that West Point is “down” this year and playing for the championship. I watched Cleveland Central put up a heck of a fight and then West Point got that ball with 6:27 to go and did what they do and that was the ballgame. You’re also correct, Holmes County had them beat, but at the end of the game couldn’t run the ball to get a first down, had a terrible punt, and WP drove it 30 yards to take the lead. Say what you will, but those guys know how to win over there.2 points

Officials aren't required to do down distance and where the ball is. That's why they are called the clock operator. At Hattiesburg we've got someone hired to be the scoreboard operator and he puts up all the numbers.2 points

Nobody’s disappeared. I stand by everything I said. OG was the more talented team as they are every year but youth is youth and it ultimately bit them as it did at times throughout the season.2 points

Quit complaining and play the hand you are dealt…. Or hit the transfer portal.2 points

Understandable since both of those are practically the steel curtain of high school defenses. I can see why you are optimistic2 points

Quitman/Forest rematch should be interesting. Hard to beat the same team twice, but it can be done!2 points

Been getting a kick out of LSU fans today talking about Womack because of his stats. We heard the same about Nolan’s stats last year. We heard the same about Umanmielen from Florida fans and Amos from Bama fans. Now all three are All SEC 1st Team projected first round guys. Let Golding work. Going to land Princewill Umanmielen as well who #1 Edge in the portal. Might not click next year but both guys have two years left so there’s plenty of upside there for the future. Right now I’m just patiently waiting on if Poo is returning for his senior season. Will easily be #38 next season and can go down as one of the best Ole Miss LB’s ever. His dad has been the best recruiter we’ve had the last couple weeks.1 point

Yep..All that talk about Grenada and Poplarville both having no shot has been made to look foolish.1 point

Vott, I've moved on from it and I'm not in any kind of denial. The scoreboard says what it says, but that doesn't mean it was a fairly earned victory either. Clean and accurate officiating would have made that game so much better regardless of outcome.1 point

Gautier is very fast and extremely athletic. They have a great athlete at quarterback who can take a game over. They have 2 really fast running backs. Athletes on perimeter. They are tough to defend. Defensively, they have a great linebacker and some speed but they are not physical. They are a good football team but probably would have been sent home in the 1st or 2nd round in 4A or 6A. Them earning their first trip to state in school history is a great story but I expect West Point to wear them down and pull away in second half1 point

I’ve been pulling for y’all this season so EBF can eat his preseason words saying y’all would be down this year with the coaching change knowing dang well West Point is gonna West Point. However since my buddy coaches Cleveland Central, I gotta pull for the Wolves in this one. Both teams can’t afford to have the 1H they played last week and expect to pull off a come from behind victory again. Cleveland Central actually struggled for 3.5 quarters. They def can’t afford to do that cuz yalls type of offense eats clock and they won’t have as many chances as they did against Canton. Should be a good one. Good luck to y’all and safe travels.1 point

As for the game between Raleigh and Loyd star, Raleigh should win that game, maybe even pretty handily. Raleigh probably won’t score a ton of points, but Loyd Star will not be able to run their style of offense against Raleigh. I do not think they will score more than once, if at all. Nothing against Loyd Star, because they play hard, but you just cannot just line up and run it right at Raleigh’s defense. I like Raleigh to win 28-71 point

Disregard because San Jose St decided they’d rather keep giving the ball away. In other news though there’s some craziness transpiring at Camp Randall. Prob jinxing it though and Oregon going to come back.1 point

It’s back up now. It won’t last long. Too many people trash talk too much and then after a loss they want to threaten violence. That’s why it got shut down the first time. It’s some of the most ignorant garbage you will ever read1 point

Evidently this just depends. Imagine if we had gotten Deion Smith on the team this year? He basically had his helmet in hand walking out for the first practice but could never get his summer school grades approved to start at Ole Miss. So apparently there still some value on going to class and making a grade for some.1 point

It was weak last season with the exception of Biggersville, who was really good. I remember the good old days when 1A used to be super competitive. You had Mize, Weir, Scott Central, Durant, Calhoun City, Smithville, Pelahatchie, Vardaman, etc. All were competing and winning against bigger schools back then.1 point
