Y’all might as well quit dreaming about less classifications coming back. It ain’t happening.3 points

Let’s keep it about the 2025 schedule. Pages 2 and 3 has already had the Enterprise discussion. S1nglewing and myself are doing our best to keep from threads being hijacked by the Enterprise back and forth banter this season but yall have to help out by not feeding the beast.2 points

Like I mentioned on a previous post, his Hudl highlights are very good. Just hope he can get good chemistry between all the WR's in the next 6 weeks. I wouldnt exactly say he is QB1 right now either. He will definitely have to earn the job when practice starts in a couple weeks.1 point

Well if they finish last then they miss the playoffs. I think they beat clarkdale and finish 4th, and yes play Scott central in round 1. BUT…. I wouldn’t be shocked if they beat SC in round 1. I don’t think it would happen, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it did1 point

He’s got to learn when to throw the ball away and not force throws. That should come with time and more experience. He is a good kid.1 point

I’ve been watching him since his youth days and he’s tough as a piece of metal1 point

Annual Smith county jamboree is at Raleigh this season: Mize vs Forest Raleigh vs North Forrest Taylorsville vs Scott Central1 point

Stringer is trying to build a program that knows how to win. They have not had a winning season since 2020, and before last season they had 3 2 win seasons in a row. I think the soft scheduling was done to build confidence going into district play. As stated above Region 7 is pretty tough for 1A at least so trying to rack up wins and team confidence makes sense. Scheduling a team that was 8-Man in 2024 and 2 0-10 1A teams is kind of taking soft scheduling to the extreme though. They are not going to be “all that” as far as from a talent standpoint, but they will have the coaching and mental toughness to make a lot more noise than people think they can. Curious to see whether it pays off for them.1 point

The chances of 2 schools being tied again to give 7A 25 is pretty slim. I'd bet going forward if they are on the bubble they make sure they stay on one side or the other.1 point

Simpson county consolidation is no longer happening. Not now or near future at least. https://www.simpsoncounty.ms/consolidation-rescinded?fbclid=IwQ0xDSwLiCl1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHn3u5Lz5tygN-gqXkxt1Nc9zFXi0LEsDV3iXrneEoZj9UGGe1sQiNNsBTBV9_aem_Vjn_XOv1B71aLYgdvYFJgg1 point

So USM and MSU are going to wait and play each other in a Spring Game on memorial Day weekend? LOLOLLOL1 point

Sumrall will not be moving down. That town is growing every year. They may need a new high school within 5yrs.1 point

Looks like Wesson/Collins winner will likely host Scott Central/Heidelberg winner for south state barring Mize or Bay Springs upsetting Collins or Wesson. The bracket has been posted.1 point

That Maxpreps is off kinda goes without saying, but SBL is supposed to be accurate from what I understand.1 point

Every team in Region 4 has the potential to go deep. Unfortunate that one of them won't even make the playoffs1 point

If Loyd Star was a little better defensively, I think they and Wesson could be right up there. They will score a lot of points this season offensively, especially playing the schedule they do, but once they come against a good defense that slows them down they are done for. However, offensively, they are going to rush for a crap ton of yards. They have 3 good backs. Everybody knows about Kees, but they have two more backs that are tough. Wesson will be a little bit better than them, IMO. A little better defensively and more balanced offensively.1 point

Heidelberg is team to beat. That is obvious. Scott Central, Enterprise-Clarke, Wesson, Mize, Bay Springs, Loyd Star maybe Perry Central could all be in the hunt in the South. Anything can happen. Should be an exciting year for 2A.1 point

Here's how I "think" things should shake out: Region 1 1. Baldwyn 2. Hamilton 3. Walnut 4. Hatley Region 2 1. East Union 2. Water Valley 3. Myrtle 4. Strayhorn 5. Bruce Region 3 1. Charleston 2. Northside 3. JZ George 4. Marks Palmer 5. Leland Region 4 1. Kemper Co. 2. Velma Jackson 3. Eupora 4. East Webster 5. Philadelphia Region 5 1. Scott Central 2. Lake 3. Puckett 4. Pelahatchie 5. Newton Region 6 1. Heidelberg 2. Bay Springs 3. Mize 4. Enterprise-Clarke 5. Clarkdale Region 7 1. Wesson 2. Loyd Star 3. Enterprise-Lincoln 4. Amite Co. 5. Wilkinson Co. Region 8 1. Perry Central 2. Collins 3. Sacred Heart 4. East Marion 5. North Forrest Now, mind you, this isn't a prediction by any means... simply where I think 2A will be at the end of the regular season.1 point

Will these two teams both open and close the season with each other? Outside of West Point vs Louisville, this may be the most talked about game of opening weekend.1 point

I’m not sure…. Probably not anytime soon. Grenada and Ocean Springs were one off replacements for Wayne County and Hoover from the year prior.1 point

South Pike/Greenville Christian is one of the most random matchups I’ve seen in awhile.1 point

I agree. Tupelo and OG will have the two most talented teams in 7a this year.1 point

Tupelo/Brandon opening up that same night has a better chance of a rematch later in the year but this is such a great opening week matchup that has the possibility of it. Kudos to both schools for scheduling it. Just don’t go judging one or the other off the outcome cuz there will be plenty of football left after it. ETA: I think the year ends with Tupelo vs Oak Grove.1 point

4A--1A needs to go back to 4 regions per class, take the top 8 in each region to the playoffs. Should end all open dates with 9 region games each. Playoffs still start 1st Friday in November. 8s @ 1s 7s @ 2s 6s @ 3s 5s @ 4s1 point

Are nine regular season games doing to be a thing many schools do? I can see some places with low numbers or who lack a competitive roster doing it but to me it amplifies the fact five or six team regions leave a lot of extra scheduling to do. Let's reduce the number of classes back to five and have larger regions with fewer scheduling holes. Yes it won't happen but a guy can dream.1 point
