Dawg83
Also just remembered that Rick Ray is an assistant at Vandy…. Believe this will be the first State vs Rick Ray game since he was fired. Ray was the textbook definition of “if the only good thing you can say about a coach is he’s a nice guy, that’s a problem”

Bulldogs4
Rick Ray may be a good assistant but he is certainly not HC material. After State he went to a directional Missouri school where he managed to be worse than he was at State. Now in fairness he came into a horrible situation and did recruit reasonably well. When he was let go, he did leave a decent roster for Howland. But the overall situation was bad and he was certainly a terrible hire looking back on it. Q Weatherspoon and IJ Ready were good players but otherwise Ray’s recruiting was really bad. Guys like Sword and Gavin Ware were Stansbury signees. State had major depth issues for years due to poor Ray recruiting. It’s a big reason why Howland’s first two teams weren’t any good.

Dawg83
That Georgia team that Ole Miss beat just smoked Kentucky. Also Florida destroyed Tennessee who came in undefeated and ranked number one.

Dawg83
RJ Melendez is a perfect fit for a Chris Jans team and has been an outstanding portal add.
MSTSatchmo
Big early road win for State. Even bigger considering they had a 22 point lead go down to 5 late. They have a brutal stretch coming up. Five of the next six are KY, Auburn, OM, Tennessee and Bama. That’s insane.
maroontide06
State survived the Vandy run and left Memorial Gym with a double digit win. Great road win for State.

Dawg83
Kentucky on deck for State. Have not beaten UK in The Hump since 2008. Calipari had State’s number big time but he’s gone to the land of Tyson and Wal Mart now. It’s still Kentucky and Mark Pope is a good coach. Should be an awesome atmosphere for two Top 15 teams. Bulldogs4
Big win for State! We all knew that Vandy was going to make a run. Good to see our guys maintain their composure and not only hang on to win but win going away. Big game with Kentucky coming up at home. Bulldogs4
SEC is rough this year. Most likely every team is going to get mauled a few times during the year.

Dawg83
Super early, I know, but Lunardi now has State on the 2 seed line. I don’t know if they finish that high but the conversation is definitely different this year for State. Less about getting in and more about how high of a seed can they get. Dawg83
Huge road win for Ole Miss at Arkansas. This OM team is a tourney team, I definitely believe that. I wonder how long until Arkansas has buyer’s remorse on a washed Calipari.
Bulldogs4
I think they had buyer’s remorse the day before he was ever hired. That was such a poor decision on the part of the Arkansas hierarchy. We know Cal had State’s number but somehow he couldn’t get his team to pretend they were playing State ever time out… OTOH, Kentucky with Pope was sold hire. KY fans are a bit like Bama football fans. Expectations in the present day are no longer realistic. If they stick with Pope I think they’ll be fine. A very good road win for Ole Miss especially over coming the first half lead. Good to our teams playing well. Sure makes for better conversation. MSTSatchmo
Big win for OM. They have some shooters (and I’m not talking about Dia lol) so if one is having an off night someone else can pick up the slack. Pedulla was a huge transfer pickup.
