She is the head womens basketball coach at ULM. Causey would be crazy to leave that gold mine he is sitting on at OG. And I dont think Vance would want to be at Petal. I could be wrong about all 3 of them. Rod Davis at Florence would be a good one as well.

He had a slow start his first few years. but has definitely turned it around and has them playing very well the last few seasons.
pantherpride1999
Here is my list of coaches who are in my opinion good potential candidates. Drew Causey - Oak Grove Chip Bilderback - Columbia Lance Mancus0 - JDC Blake Pennock - Gulfport Jay Beech - Poplarville Corey Reynolds - West Jones jeff Stockstill - Pass Christian I am not familiar with North Mississippi football, but I am sure that they have some quality coaches that will be interested as well. RUNNINGMAN67
If they really wanted to win they would go after Larry Dolan or Cody Stogner. Proven winners.

Better chance of them hiring Jimbo Fisher than Cody Stogner. LOL. I do not see him leaving Picayune unless the school forces him out.

It is a great job but unless you guys are dropping a crap ton of money let's be realistic.
pantherpride1999
From what I'm told it will be one of the top paying jobs in the state. We have the best facilities in the state bar none. We have some younger talent that should develop. This is probably the second best job in the state maybe next to Madison Central.
Dubaction
I just watched OG vs Petals 9th grade… the talent gap right now between the two schools is pretty significant

Petal is not as good of a job as you think. Yes, it does pay a lot more than most and it does have great facilities, but paychecks and facilities does not guarantee wins.

pantherpride1999
It is hard for me to believe that these coaches would rather stay at little country 3A and 4A schools than be the head coach at Petal. But maybe I'm wrong.

Id much rather keep winning and knowing i have job security at a little 3a or 4a school than taking a chance on struggling at a 6a or 7a school knowing that if i failed that i would probably be let go after a couple yrs
Merlin
If a coach values winning big then petal is not even a top 20 job in this state. Not enough overall talent. They do have money tho. A coach can go there get paid well a few years to pad the bank account.

North of $100k and they get to coach at the highest level of high school football in Mississippi with the best facilities in Mississippi. I think there will be surprised folks by the time it is all said and done!
