Wayne County - 200K+ We are many . The entrenched blue hairs are few. From the ashes the ghosts will rise

That was night 1 of a two-day, three game extravaganza at Wayne County. You had Wayne County vs Quitman that Thursday night. Then the next night, since it absolutely would not stop raining that August of 2022, Wayne County was nice enough to allow Taylorsville and Raleigh to use the facility for their openers. Magee beat Taylorsville in Game 1 and then Raleigh beat Bay Springs in game 2. Very unique start to that season. That Raleigh/Bay Springs game was also the game that Coach Brady got a concussion and had to leave early in the first half. Current Bay Springs Coach Young took over and coached the rest of that game.

Crazy to think that stadium saw a head coach get into a fight in the stands and another coach leave in an ambulance due to a concussion within a just over 24 hour span.

good luck with that

I don't think the current Louisville, Columbia, Poplarville, Grenada, South Panola, Tupelo, and Gulfport coaches are moving. They will do good to get one of their assistants or go with a 3A/2A coach outside of an Wayne County Alum.

I think you can remove Mitch Evans name from this list. It’s either gonna be Reynolds or Carter, IMO. But more than likely it’s gonna be Reynolds.

I will say ole Stanky Bubba will pull hus strings to get his guy as a parting shhotat the Wayne County faithful.

CHAMPIONSHIP EXPERIENCE

2011 C-USA Chanpionship MVP

Played in 4A State final in 2005 and 2006

Also coached at Hinds JC

Thats's Lampley and is really more that any assistant at those places could bring to the table .

Furthermore the Reynolds clan and their front man Bubba have proven they know nothing about what a winning coach should look or sound like  What has Hathorne done football wise that he should have so much sayso over a football programs direction .Anyone with the history you listed wouldn't move the needle for the people who's support is needed to turn things back in the right direction. Just more of the same .

They definitely are going to try and sneak mama's boy in there on the back of Hathorne leaving and pin the failure on him when it falls apart again. I just hope the rest see it for what it is and tell the aunt she can't vote on it due to conflict of interest.

Al Smith,Al Smith ,Al Smith someone come on here and defend this clown , It's time his name gets called out. He's not on the board anymore but you can thank him for giving us Hathorne and Branch . Two smooth brains he put in office because they are his neighbors and 100% would do what he said.

Lampley may wanna avoid the chaos in Waynesboro.  Also, he's not exactly viewed as a rising star in Ocean Springs.

Archer, as an outsider like yourself I want to try to address the two points you have made.  When we look at the first point, you mention the word chaos.  Where is that chaos coming from and is that chaos on the verge of leaving?  Is that chaos going to be around permanently?  In life, to achieve the goals you set it shouldn't come easy.  There will be some trials and tribulations that you will have to go through, and if you are willing to go through those trials and tribulations there's got to be a reward out there for you.

Now to address the second point.  I personally do not know what his role was at Ocean Springs, but in the grand scheme of things how he is viewed there should have no bearing on how he is viewed in Waynesboro.  Those are two totally different communities.  I personally don't think you would have any of his co-workers at Ocean Springs say anything bad about him.  I tend to think they would support him however they could.  I also think they would want him to be happy and be the best version of himself.  He very well could be a rising star, but why would that place have to be Ocean Springs?  Ocean Springs has a head coach.  What if Pound is needed elsewhere and has a chance to shine elsewhere?  How could they not support that?

Coaches are not interested in interviewing for a dog and pony show when they all feel like it’s already Corey Reynolds job.

I have to agree with this even though it makes we angry to think about it.
The way they let Robert Hathorne get up there and ramble on and on about what all he had done and left everything in a better place was redneck as hell . Then to blame the kids and gas shortages on how much they lost was weak. Someone should have stood ip and told him that’s enough. They all look like scared sheep being unloaded at the slaughter plant.
Outside of having his aunt as board president and Bob Hathorne in his corner Reynolds has zero qualifications for being the coach at Wayne County.

They can all run to the back and vote in secret but I know someone who will be in the room and will make it public. Believe that

you seen what I mean about withholding stuff ? The main reason is because this bloated hippo was in the room and they were afraid to report it.

Fair points but my nephew played at OS recently (on offense) and said Lampley was invisible at practices as Bramlett ran the show.

And there's the fact he was demoted in favor of King being elevated to OC (after Green offered him the same position at Pascagoula).

Why? RBs are literally one of the easiest positions to coach and he was a RB.

He stated he was "invisible" at practices which to most would insinuate that he did not do anything. My son reported the same as he just finished his playing career with OS so this obviously is a theme. So if he is a coach who is not actively involved in practice, game planning, etc., how valuable of a coach would you say a person is? Bramlett demoted him from OC title to keep King on board. That obviously signals something is there in regards to Lampley's importance to the OS operation, or lack thereof. Which for a new HFC like Zach Green who is trying to build a staff up, could potentially be an issue especially as he is more of a defensive minded coach. His offensive coaching staff hires will have to hit and from all regards, Lampley may be a "miss" at the moment.

  • slicklizard changed the title to Wayne County football , Hankins resigns Hathorne needs lipitor. Rumors swirl, Situation is fluid

If Wayne hires Reynolds he won’t last 4 seasons.  As long as he pulls the same crap he did at WJ and embarrassed administration don’t try to keep it hidden like they did at WJ.  Jones county school board was the wide of a period on this post from firing him week 3 this year.  He knew by week 5 he wasn’t going to be around by Christmas break. Pigskin prognosticator said during the season reynolds never should have made it past last spring.

Will Hathorne step aside and let assistant principal and teachers interview potential coaches or will he medal in it is the million dollar question right now.

I am hearing a committee will make the recommendation but that’s hearsay. All I know for sure is Bubba is listed as contact
