  1. I would hope we'd follow their lead but the MHSAA is not led by the best and the brightest.
  2. I was aware. He was just denied an appointment on the PGSD board. His wife is a local doctor and they built a house one block off the beach a decade or so ago. Stranger things have happened but Lewis as a high level administrator in the Wayne school district seems implausible.
  3. In title only. And then, curiously, Bramlett elevated Brody King to OC after Green attempted to hire him at Pascagoula.
  4. Has he ever been a true coordinator? Rooting for him — a former standout player returns to try and restore the program to glory. However, there is risk in this hire and he better be able to assemble a high level staff around him.
  5. That’s truly awful — unnecessarily busy, distracting, and the eagle logo leaves much to be desired. I’m very familiar with bad logos. Here at Pascagoula we may have the worst logo on the state.
  6. Fair points but my nephew played at OS recently (on offense) and said Lampley was invisible at practices as Bramlett ran the show. And there's the fact he was demoted in favor of King being elevated to OC (after Green offered him the same position at Pascagoula).
  7. Lampley may wanna avoid the chaos in Waynesboro. Also, he's not exactly viewed as a rising star in Ocean Springs.
  8. Anyone grumbling must be an apologist for a dumped coach who was merely a warm body.
  9. Fant is content with living and coaching in Vancleave. Green is hiring someone from Bramlett's staff (not Lampley) to coordinate the offense at Pascagoula.
  10. I think the AD had stars in his eyes and missed on all of them. Green was familiar and a good fallback option but, yes, he better have a good offensive staff in the works.
  11. Ho hum. I know he's been required to retain a certain quota of assistants which is none too surprising and equally disappointing.
  12. My nephew played at OS. He said Lampley was merely a figurehead who was barely noticeable at practice. Bramlett runs the show on offense.
  13. Lampley would be a huge mistake based on what I know about his lack of involvement in the OS operation.

You would've thought that had begun with the hiring of an elite coach such as Dubose. His early resignation is probably a sign of administrative dysfunction.
  15. I don’t believe he would be interested.
  16. Then I hope he assembles a good offensive staff if given the freedom to.
  17. It's a very attractive job -- one of the better paying in the state and the town is undergoing a revitalization of sorts. But I'm not thrilled with this hiring process, especially the formation of an idiotic committee in which its membership includes teachers and other district employees.

It's somewhat bewildering given they normally field a good to very good basketball team so there are athletes on that campus. Culturally, it appears to incompatible with winning football games and nobody appears up to the task of reversing the status quo.
  20. That's quite the conditional considering he may not be there a few years.
  21. Probably the worst 7A job in the south. No history, no expectations, poor support, north Gulfport ... the kinda job that leads to alcoholism.
  22. Did Pierson have input on his successor when he retired or did he not meddle?
