Eugene Clinton is a winner and I think Brandon is in good hands with him. Does not mention anything related to being the Head Football Coach. So it appears they may be making that a separate position. Which would probably help in hiring a head coach. I think much like Kiffin, the decision comes down to 2 things. 1. Money (Brandon can probably get in the ball park for what Pennock makes now) 2. How consistently do you have the potential to compete for championships. I think Brandon (like LSU) has things in place and has shown they are much more consistent at competing for championships that Gulfport (like Ole Miss) has. The county has a history of shifting some coaches around. However I would have to believe that coach would be the interim, or the coach at NWR/Florence if they want it. One is coaching at his alma mater with the field named after his dad and just won a state title, the other is at West Point and will probably win many State Championships to go to a place that is nice but has never won a State title, can’t just give you what you want because of being in a larger district with like 8 high schools. Plus you have to deal with the recruiting that JA/MRA/Hartfield are gonna do. Even Pennock and Bramlett would be wise to think long and hard before taking it.
