It just does not exist anymore. The dynamics that led to this are just dumb founding to me. He seems to be a good coach and I still think we have pitching talent but something has just gone off the rails. I have been a Lemonis supporter but we are missing something in the baseball program. And I don’t know what it is. And yet even though I said previously that we are toast, the season is not dead yet. I guess that is why I am surprised and disappointed that we fired a coach now instead of letting the season play out and finish. While the immediate future is dim, the opportunity still exists for this team to make a run. Doubtful but still possible. Where do you see MSU making a run? They will probably win the mid week games. But I see a 2-7 record in the last 3 sec series. That if MSU takes 2 of 3 from Texas A-M. Arkansas and LSU will definitely sweep MSU. We’ll see on Arkansas, they’ve been a weird team lately. Swept Tennessee, swept by Georgia, then swept A&M. No idea what to expect with them week to week. A&M is a winnable series. I’d say 4-5, maybe 5-4, is the best case scenario, but something like 2-7 is most likely.

Dawg83
Saw where Hunter Elliott had Tommy John surgery. That really sucks. And him not having it until now probably costs him his 2024 season, too.

They were flagged for suspicious betting activity during the LSU series. Most notably bets placed for the April 28th game in which the starter was replaced by a reliever just hours before the game. It was probably nothing, but the OCCC must have thought there were an unusual number of bets placed in that hour before the game started. LSU won 8-6 Alabama ended up firing their baseball coach because of this. Makes you wonder what happened.

BrickCity
So Foxhall has been fired from State and im just now hearing about this. It needed to be done, and at this point Lemonis is just saving his own skin Edited May 4, 2023 by BrickCity

I honestly figured it was just coincidental when the story came out, but apparently the head coach was in direct contact with the person placing the bets. How stupid can you be. Between that and the Bama basketball players with as many weapons as Ukraine, and the football player driving like he was at Talledaga, they have a mess over there.

Yes they definitely have a mess over there. That’s got to be worse than the Andy Cannizaro / Lee Begley affair.
rebmus
Ole Miss lost to a very bad Mizzou team tonight and are now 5-17 in SEC play, It looks like the conversation is turning into which team follows up a NC with a crappier season the following year. sportsmaniac10
This season has been some of the worst pitching performances in the Bianco era at ole miss. The bullpen is just complete trash based on the performances this season. Earlier in the season the starters were part of the problem. Now the starters have put together some decent outings and no one in the pen could pitch past a little league team. 5 home runs by Missouri last night. And I’d venture to guess we are averaging giving up about 2 home runs per game in SEC play. It’s late in Bianco’s career but maybe time to hire a pitching coach and turn that over. We already sold our souls to the devil to get the one NC in which Bianco miraculously made all the right calls. Don’t think it’ll happen again. Bianco was on his way out last year before they made their run. Some OM fans said afterwards that he would be at OM until he deicides to leave. Do y’all still think that’s the case after this season? I still say that State and OM should never be as bad as bottom two of the SEC.
Bulldogs4
It almost seems like with both teams reaching the pinnacle that the best thing to do would be to start fresh with a new HC and possibly keep at least one of the existing staff to have some carryover. There seems to be a hex over both teams last year with State and again this year along with Ole Miss. Every bad thing that can go wrong seems to go wrong and multiply and then nothing good happens when the opportunity presents itself. Again I am not one to advocate changing coaches but it is possible that Bianco at Ole Miss and Lemonis at State (though it is much shorter time wise) have done all they can do for the respective teams and their time is ending. However, we will see how it pans out.

rebmus
Ole Miss lost to Mizzou 13-3 tonight. Stick a fork in OM baseball, they're done. As mentioned earlier, OM and MSU are likely the 2 teams left out of Hoover.

He’s the primary one responsible for evaluating talent and getting that talent to Starkville. It just seems like it’s been a scharade of fake movie set props the last two years. Genuine, solid, and consistent pitching talent has completely vanished under his watch. That’s a bad place to be.

s1nglewing
It's crazy to me that UM and MSU are one and two years from earning national championships and now their "fans" want to fire their coaches.

Why are the results we’ve been seeing 1 & 2 years removed from NC’s acceptable? Taking a step back is perfectly fine, but the collapses we’ve been seeing shouldn’t be. OM probably has legitimate excuses for their collapse since their pitching staff has been decimated by injuries, but State OTOH stands without excuse. When the issues become greater than what a coaching staff can fix or resolve, what are you supposed to do?
