What about that little slim shady y’all had at running back when we played last season. That kid could fly. If you didn’t get him right at the handoff, that was fifteen to twenty yards guaranteed.

He graduated. His backup last year was a bigger back but was a sophomore. He's around the size of Picayune's back. He's pretty athletic for his size and has pretty good speed. Excited to watch him play this year.

Meh, I disagree. Especially on the "I am not sure if it's close" comment

I am speaking at this moment. I fully believe Deuce Knight at George County will surpass Irving's ability by the time he is a senior. He is going to be an absolute STUD. Irving is seasoned and played a TON of games over the last 3 seasons. He accounted for almost 4,200 yards of offense and almost 50 TD's last season. I did not intend my post be a knock on any other team's quarterback.

@CrimsonUnit1988 We're talking about a 3 year starter entering his senior year vs a sophomore that's started a handful of varsity games. For this, 2022, it's not really close.

Didn't take it as a knock. No harm done.

Ah all that Gun-T stuff never really seems to pan out.

I think it is a good change up from your normal offense. Have a series or so based out of that look. What Wayne County did offensively last year was impressive. They could go traditional spread one series, and then turn around and be wing-t the next. Tough to defend like that

Yes what they did was impressive.  Each one teach one.

I don’t know much about Jackson Al as a football team. They won a lot of games last year.

When the starters were in if this would have been a fight they would have stopped it.

Boyd at RB looks all district at least. Possibly more. They have found several other young scat backs that can break it too. The passing game is drastically improved also. Special teams need a lot of work. The defense was straight up nasty. The coaches have done an outstanding job in the offseason.

Going through Quitman next week won’t be much of a task. After that the bell is going to ring because  football school will start as the Grover’s come to town. They will score at least two TDs off of our special teams if we don’t get that cleaned up. OG always has solid special teams.

They were 11-3 last season they lost twice to Vigor. One of the losses was in the state semifinals. Vigor went on to win state. Jackson returned pretty much everything except the QB. They have a good senior QB this season and plenty of weapons on both offense and defense

These are from the predicted scores thread and I really don’t agree with them.

Madison Central   31

West Jones      10

Madison best not come into this game unfocused and mistake prone. SoSo is a tough place to play and the ball always bounces West’s way there. I wouldn’t be shocked if the upset happens in this game.

George Co.   42

Gulfport       21

Another tough place to get a win first game of the season. Bottom line I don’t think George can pull it off.

Petal    35

Hattiesburg    30

For the sake of region pride Hattiesburg needs to win this game and I think they will rather easily. Marcus ain’t walking back through them locker room doors. I don’t get the hype for Petal.

He revised the prediction in this game to Petal 38  Hattiesburg 34.  @EnterpriseBulldogsFan tightened the line in this one, but also gave more points to both teams.  I think @Vott & @Deonte3455 will beg to differ on both predictions LOL!

Not buying the Petal hype. The new QB is not bad by any means, but he is not a world beater either. He was probably the the 3rd or 4th best Quarterback in the region and you could argue he was not even top 5 on the coast.

Talent/eye test wise this past weekend they look like they will be improved from last season. I don’t think anyone is hyping them though. It’s not like they’re ranked anywhere.

I agree with Vott, if Hattiesburg score that many points no way they lose.
