How do we feel about 3a? Is Winona on another level from rest of 3a?

I believe it’s going to be a shootout like last year’s 3A game. I’ve been surprised with how many D1 recruits that Winona has on D that their D hasn’t been very dominant. They’ll give up some points but luckily for them their offense scores on almost every possession. If it wasn’t for Starkville/Oak Grove this would be the best battle of QB’s with it being this years Mr Football 3A against possibly next years Mr Football 3A.

No one wants to go to msu or ole miss and play. Doesnt even feel a high school atmosphere with how large the stadium is. Dumbest thing ever, feels empty. It should always be at USM

I would suspect the kids playing are excited to play in a SEC venue. I do agree that the atmosphere is better at USM because it is a more intimate environment for the fans.
I think a six year rotation among the big three is the best set up. The following would be one example of how it could rotate:

2023-Oxford

2024-Starkvegas

2025-Hattiesburg

2026-Starkvegas

2027-Oxford

2028-Hattiesburg

It could be done like this as well:

2023-Oxford

2024-Starkvegas

2025-Hattiesburg

2026-Hattiesburg

2027-Oxford

2028-Starkvegas

Personally I enjoyed the games in Jackson at the Vet but like State & Ole Miss playing games on campus since the 1990’s, I now prefer them on the college campuses these days. Travel time is certainly difficult for the S teams/fans going to Oxford and the N teams/fans going to Hattiesburg.
But that is unavoidable because MS is 340 miles in distance from the TN line to the coast.

Congrats to Oak Grove, avenged their only loss. Heidelberg an D. Carter, wow

talk about a complete turnaround of that program.

I don’t think it’s really turnaround. They were decent last year, they just lost their head coach right before the season started and that made everything chaotic. They still were competitive last year, made the 2nd round of the playoffs. This year they were good in every game, they just lost 3 games where they turned the ball over relentlessly. They literally lost like 10 fumbles against bay springs, they had a whooping 24 turnovers over a 3 game stretch. They had a 1 point loss to mize in a game they threw 4 interceptions. When they protect the ball, they win. I don’t see them beating Charleston though. Charleston is the clear favorite, IMO

I wouldn't count out Heidelberg because they had to beat Bay Springs and Raleigh to get there.  No easy task.

Raleigh didn't play up to the level they have been playing. As to why before you ask I will remain silent until further info is passed along.
