Merlin
West Point/Holmes county winner probably wins this. Laurel could get hot and takes it but I doubt it. They got no heart.

Dub312
Holmes County will probably be a 1st round exit. Huge waste of talent in Lexington.

pancho
Corinth is the weakest they've been in a decade or more.

The one and only time they’ve made it out of the first round was 2018. Which was Rogers first year there. They beat Lake Comorant in the first round and then got shut out by Olive Branch in the second round if I’m not mistaken
Vice004
North I don’t know much about any of the teams from the north but I will make picks regardless Cleveland Central at Clarksdale- Clarksdale 22-16 Lafayette at Canton- Lafayette 14-10 Corinth at Holmes County- Holmes County 35-7 Gentry at West Point-West Point 47-6 South I’m super familiar with all of these teams and if you asked me to pick a favorite I’d just tell you to draw names out of a hat. Wayne County at Florence-Florence 33-21 Natchez at Gautier-Gautier 41-21 Provine at Laurel-Laurel 34-18 Vancleave at Brookhaven-Brookhaven 28-
David44
Could be a big upset brewing in the south. If Provine can beat Florence by 21, Wayne County can certainly win if they bring the game they had beating Laurel

Vice004
In order for Wayne County to win then we have to do something that we haven’t done but once all year and that’s play mistake free.. no dumb penalties.. and don’t turn the ball over.. this is not Wayne County from 15 years ago where we can have 4 fumbles, 12 penalties and still win by 40.. this team and this coaching staff need to bring their absolute best and I’m not optimistic about that. I usually call it like I see it and this team has beat itself a bunch this year.
NoWammies
Holmes County will get to see if they can quiet the doubters next week as they host West Point. Should be a good one. Clarksdale will look to keep their hot streak going as they host Lafayette in a rematch from earlier in the season that Clarksdale won 34-24. slicklizard
Wayne County showed up just like they have against, well I can't count how many games. No improvement. Nothing built upon. Same old thing banging their head against the wall. I just going to say what it is. It's clear to anyone who has been watching. The coaches quit on these players. They let them down. Dub312
The boys of JJ McClain in Lexington are not a playoff caliber team. All that talent is hyped up every year for disappointment.
maroontide06
Well it comes down to Gautier and Laurel in the South. Can’t say we didn’t see that coming, but man oh man West Point is gonna have a field day/put on a clinic in Oxford.

I guess my point is is that 5A South was such a mixed bag this year that you could draw a name out of a hat.

coastfootballfanman
It is ironic because pre-season, 5A south (especially 4-5A) was being propped up this gauntlet of amazing teams and honestly, 5A south is down bad this year overall and you can tell. 5A State game may be the biggest blowout of them all in two weeks
