Congrats to Pound. He will definitely energize the program. And that’s a good thing. That’s one positive. but at the same time, he’s never been a head coach. And the coaching at Wayne county since Mangum left in 2017 has been subpar at best. Both Gandy’s had full teams, even Hankins first two years he had full teams(all I mean by that is 80 plus players which is normal at Wayne county) but the combined IQ on all of those staffs outside of 2 guys couldn’t power a potato clock. Excitement alone won’t be enough to get over the hump and back to state championships. He needs to be able to bring guys in that can help him.

It’s not about skin color, never has been for me. It’s about getting the best out of those kids wearing those uniforms. There’s people that understand that and then there’s people that make it about this or that. I will give whoever gets the job my support.

Chris Boone coached at Wayne county in the late 90’s. I want to say it was 97 or 98 under Henry. Since then he’s coached at UAB, Nicholls State, East Central CC, UT Martin, Jacksonville St, Murray State, East Mississippi CC, Southern Miss, Samford and now Troy. He’s been the DC at 5 or 6 of those stops. For me the list of who I want is relatively short. So let’s hope whoever is making the decision chooses wisely.

There’s a graveyard right next to the stadium lol I’ve parked there many times. Well along the fence.. not in the actual graveyard..

The brand of football doesn’t really bother me. For a while it was the inability or the stubbornness to make adjustments. And the complete incompetence on defense at times. The kids came out in the second half last week and played with heart. And without being super specific with a gameplan(I’m not on the coaching staff, just my observation) if we can tackle in space and stay in rush lanes against the QB on defense, dominate the LoS on offense and not kill ourselves with penalties then we can very much win this game.
