coastfootballfanman
It is an uphill battle. The talent they do have, they can hardly keep. Just since the season ended, they have lost 2 starting DL and their QB to transfer. It is a tough spot and will take someone that is willing to really, really build and develop. You would think that if Ocean Springs can have success, then so can St. Martin but it's really not the case at all. It would probably be easier to get Moss Point turned around and become a perennial power again, than it would be at St. Martin. It's just a really tough spot there. Whitehead was able to bring temporary success but that was due to talent that was mostly brought in. It's really a weird anomaly as you stated. Most of their sports suffer and only put up +500 schedules due to cupcakes on the schedules

But, Jones’ record doesn’t need defending… he’s won everywhere he’s been and had great success at Starkville. Now, the Supt got what he wanted and is on the clock. I wish Starkville well. However, he will look really dumb if he doesn’t get this hire right.
