Definitely agree Reb. The objective is to win. But we have been so far on the “L” side recently that even a competitive loss looks better.
Maybe we can pull off a win tonight. Still gotta clean up some things and get some timely hits.

Good luck to Ole Miss tonight.

So was it better losing a close one?

Better, still not good. 0-7 is 0-7. And the SEC losing streak is now at 18. Lemonis went 20-10 in both of his first two years of conference play. The collapse has been unreal. I get dropping off some after the championship. But this much? Cannot make sense of it.

It makes zero sense.   I know OM has started off 0-6, but everyone still expects them to win a lot of games.

The walks and wild pitches.  Can’t throw a player out stealing.  Looks like the first year of little league with kids actually pitching.

OM is now 0-7 in SEC play. I'd like some of that relief B4! Ha

Y’all did too many of those “please just let us win this one and I’ll give anything” prayers that we did in June 2021. Lol. We are still paying for that.

It was great to win the NC but the peak is high when you hit the pinnacle and then the fall fast and furious (at least in State and Ole Miss’s cases).

As has been noted Ole Miss has been competitive in their games while 5 of State’s 7 conference losses have been blow outs.

Ole Miss is getting everybody’s best shot this year and probably (as 83 noted) some of the intangibles are going against them. Of course Ole Miss had some struggles last year during the season before getting hot at the right time.

Right.  Everyone still expects OM to win some games, and as they proved last year, all you have to be is the last team in the field.

With the win Friday, State may have exceeded their season expectations after their disastrous start.  They looked so Good Friday though.  Still mind boggling.

Well a disappointing and disastrous 8th and 9th inning cost State an opportunity to win the series.

Actually could have swept the series and yet only won one game.
Kind of sums up the season so far State.

Still even though winning is the objective I thought we did play better this weekend overall.

Congrats to Ole Miss on getting a win. Same thing there, maybe they can relax and play ball now.

State and OM in a three way tie with Georgia at the bottom of the league. State is at Bama and OM hosts Arkansas this weekend, feels like must win series if you want any hope of a turnaround. And then the SBW series in Starkville in just under two weeks definitely feels like an elimination series for the loser.

I know the series isn't exactly what we wanted with SC but there was a glimpse of life in that second game. Im not wanting to write this season off just yet
