BigFan100
Goula OLine not too solid he will not have time to throw for the most part. This the best defense they will face all year. If we play great like we do against competitor teams we will win by 21. I will give them 14 points the max.

TheTruth
11 hours ago, Merlin said: West was running last night with a patchwork o line. Backup center was a big issue he kept rolling snaps to the qb. One George county recovered. Left tackle went to right guard at one point. A d line as was playing d tackle and o guard at one point. The big rb came off limping on wests 3rd possession and was out for a few possessions. And the GC qb, if west didn’t have him on the ground or he wasn’t running if he had more than 2 seconds to throw the west db’s would lose coverage and got burned. West had GC 3rd and 10 fro the WJ 45 with just over 3 minutes left. They blitzed a safety leaving zero safety coverage. This is something west frequently did and I know Hattiesburg picked up on it as they caught west several times last week with it. That qb threw a 6-8 yard post route that was caught and the only db within 10 yards totally whiffed on the tackle. Turned into the deciding td. Because west never once figure out how to disguise that blitz. West gets the ball on their 31 after kickoff. Have trouble getting the play in. Obvious confusion by the offense. Barely missed getting delay of game call, snap is bad qb recovers but sacked. No timeout called west has 2. Again slow getting the play call in and once ball snapped again it’s bad qb has to scramble but whole play busted lost more yards. No time out. 3rd down incomplete pass. 4th and 20 complete pass that looks to have the first bit a horrible spot. Turnover on downs. 1:07 left. Gc snaps the qb trots around west defense doesn’t even rush to tackle like they expected a knee. Game ends with fans and assistant coaches screaming at the head coach. One assistant in the press box nailed the box window screaming at the coach. Players have been quoted after the game telling friends and family that the coach gave up on them the last offensive possession. There has been some rumors of some behind the things going on that weren’t good since last year. Somewhat kept quiet. After the way this ended I doubt it will be for long. The west 4th down with the bad spot I’m bout to post pictures if I can figure it out. You should definitely be a coach. The 6-8 yard post route takes years to master and it sounds like you recognized it lickity split. It’s not hard to do, just go to college for 4 years and get a teaching license. I’m sure you could knock it out in 3 with your above average intellect.

Sometimes you're on the good side and sometimes you're not. Where were those "rumors" last yr when WJ was whoopin everyone? Why is it that rumors are so abundant now? Sorry, but scoring only 20 vs a dismal PRC team should've been a HUGE red flag. What did you honestly think the ceiling was for this team? We knew the defense would be learning on the go this season. We “whooped” everyone last year because of a once in 50 years defense that all graduated. But the offense was supposed to carry the load this year with 2 good RB an a state championship QB. OL injuries an QB throwing arm elbow didn’t help. Even with all that the play calling was just terrible. We didn’t throw a pass against Hattiesburg until the 4th qtr but the very next week against GC we threw 10. There are coaching issues. New defense did their part. Coach didn’t. Vott
These 2 games in 6a south this week is going to be like 2 heavyweight fighters slugging it out. GC gets Picayune in a rematch. And its always tough beating a team twice in the same season unless one team is just heads and shoulders better than the other. Hattiesburg has not faced an offense anywhere close to what Goula is bringing since HHS faced Oak Grove. On the flip side Goula has not faced a defense close to what they are going to see Friday night.
maroontide06
With Picayune and George County already recently faced each other, what kind of coaching adjustments will have been made from the initial meet-up until now? Both teams know what the other team is going to do. There's no surprises with Picayune, so do you prepare differently or focus on correcting the problems from the first meeting? (You might do neither). It's really an interesting predicament to be in. It could be just a line up and play type game with on-the-fly coaching adjustments as well. He scrambled for moderate gains but the pressure flummoxed him into bad throws and a couple of interceptions. He's very raw with an obvious high ceiling but there isn't much around him and their offensive line isn't a strength.

David44
My two cents on these 2 games: Yes, Duece Knight is pretty good, I saw it first hand at Soso. But, I just don't see GC stopping the Picayune offense enough. They will need some turnovers or Tide miscues. Picayune 35 GC 21. Have not really seen Goula, but saw Hattiesburg close up. If Goula defense line is winning or they blitz Hattiesburg, it may not be effective, because Vance is decisive and gets the ball out quickly or can run. Hattiesburg defense against the run is very good, not sure how good against the pass, because we didn't throw one until the 4th QTR. (still mad...) Pascagoula will have to throw it and catch it well to win, or hope that Hattiesburg gets in their own way. Hattiesburg 31 Pascagoula 21. I anticipate Pascagoula struggling to run the football because the OL has been merely serviceable all season with our talented junior RB gaining a lot of yards after contact. slicklizard
The fellow Wayne County native and pig man from up old river road Lewis Sims would love nothing more than Friday night to put his name in the latest chapter of the Hub City Tiger Book of post season misery. With that said I think this game will come down to how the refs call holding and pass interference. If they are tight on those I think Pascagoula will win it late. If they let Hattiesburg DBs get handsy with the Admiral receivers to get the QB to double clutch so the rush has more time to get there, Hattiesburg will win a low scoring game. Pascagoula should rough Vance up early . It takes him a few series to get past not looking for the rush above all else after that happens.
