I just don’t see how State can build any momentum with Lemonis still at the helm. He’s the primary one responsible for evaluating talent and getting that talent to Starkville. It just seems like it’s been a scharade of fake movie set props the last two years. Genuine, solid, and consistent pitching talent has completely vanished under his watch. That’s a bad place to be.

I didn't think about that, but yes that makes sense too. I don't think it's really that big of a deal though and it's kind of a genius move for Wayne County because they are getting some high caliber coaches.

@slicklizardSince "Papi Buttermilk Club" is a compliment to Wayne County Football, we've got to pool some funds together and get some t-shirts made with that on it. I've got some ideas in my head about how they should look.
-
Most definitely. This is looking more and more like a concrete scenario.
-
Unless it has something to do with Alabama Buttermilk, your guess is as good as mine but to get the gist of his post I think he is referring to the action of getting a coach on your staff who’s probably better than your current head coach two fold. That’s where the double dipping part probably comes in. Heck I’m all for Wayne County triple dipping and quadruple dipping because having great coaches on your staff really bolsters a program and allows you to have a high level of perrenial sustained success.

Yes they definitely have a mess over there. That’s got to be worse than the Andy Cannizaro / Lee Begley affair.
-
Except there really ain’t no skin left to save. I don’t even think a wound vac will help at this point and that is really sad.
-
Alabama ended up firing their baseball coach because of this. Makes you wonder what happened.
-
I guess he will be in the same boat as Stone Simmons. Hopefully we will get to see Stone get some pitching in next year.

Picayune is supposed to be playing Slidell at home on Friday, May 12th.

Hattiesburg should have high expectations entering Spring

Deonte how you been? Long time no see. Yeah I’m certainly not Miss Cleo and she was a fraud anyway. My problem is I’m ready for some football and I’m curious to see how things will work out with the new classifications. I’m still going to have trouble wrapping my head around us being 6A now because we’ve been 5A for so long. I don’t think it will be too different since our district opponents are teams that we are familiar with even though it’s been a good minute since we played Hancock. -

I'm certainly not trying to look too far into the future, but a Hattiesburg-George County matchup in the playoffs seems very intriguing to me. George County has some real talent and I hope it gets harnessed properly so that it can work in the playoffs. -
If that's the case, it leaves no room for error in regards to Petal. I don't think Marcus Boyles has it on his agenda to lose to Petal.

What Hattiesburg does against West Jones at the end of the season will probably be the litmus test for them. They'll definitely be a threat, but how they fair against West Jones will let us know the strength of the threat. -
Brandon + Oak Grove + Meridian + Northwest Rankin = Massive log jam for Petal.
-
It's time.
-
Columbia, Poplarville, and Moss Point (with Feaster now at the helm) will probably have some stark disagreements here, so I don't necessarily see the Aggies being a threat in 4A. Can they make the playoffs? Sure they can, but they just will get Stonewalled once they try to get deep into the playoffs.
-
PRC's main rival is Poplarville and they will probably play them this year if their new coach hasn't got wind of how good Poplarville is. If he has, they might get axed from the schedule too.
-
A bad situation for a new coach coming in would be someone telling him what to do. If that is what you are referring to, then yes it makes perfect sense.
-
Hattiesburg is a district game for them. They can't get out of that one.
-
PRC really the with their decision to opt out. They obviously didn't think about the financial consequences of cancelling a home and home with Picayune. It's kind of a cowardly move in my book, but I guess they think it will just get swept under the rug. Those cats are stuck in a rut they will never get out of.
-
Here’s the thing: Picayune and Oak Grove need to get on the phone with one another and work out a home and home series for the next two years because Picayune is in need of another home game this fall since we don’t have a 5th home game currently. Picayune can then turn around next year and give y’all an additional home game that you weren’t necessarily planning on having. That sounds like a win-win to me regardless of outcomes on the scoreboard.
-
No, just 1. They filled that previous opening with Catholic High out of BR. We just have a void now in the PRC game slot and it just so happens y’all have an open date that Friday night as well.
-
I'm like you there. I expected it to happen, but not during the season. I guess things got to a tipping point that there was no coming back from. I wonder who will piece this thing together though.
-
Well I guess we may be in the same boat then because objectively speaking our non-conference schedule is probably just as difficult, but since we'll both be at home that week why not line up and play a football game.
