Oh yes most definitely. It just seemed odd that the baseball game was called off, due to field conditions. Are they going to refund people who bought tickets for the game?
-
Seems real bizarre. If you ain’t got the gonads to play a baseball game in a little bit of mud, you might as well forego baseball and start bowling or doing some sort of indoor sport that keeps you high and dry.
-
I wonder why they didn’t have tarps to cover the baseball diamond (while it rained earlier)? You would think a minor league park would have something like that.
-
So did it cause trouble for the outfielders?
-
Pardon my ignorance, but why was the Southern Miss-Ole Miss baseball game canceled for tonight? Weather seems just fine.
-
There may also be some folks that relocate to Mayersville (temporarily), and if that's the case you'll need the schools in Rolling Fork.
-
I certainly don’t think you did, but Pass Christian is Pass Christian and they’ve never really been a threat. Not atrociously bad, but not juggernaut great either. Maybe the Stockstill hire can get them into some uncharted deep November territory because you certainly don’t want a coach of that caliber to willingly take unnecessary losses. If the buy-in for Pass Christian is at 130%, then I think the potential is there for them to make some noise because great coaches have the ability to do a whole lot more with a whole lot less. I certainly hope this will be the case.
-
Interesting point. I mean it’s a great hire and there’s no question about that. But there’s an old saying out there, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” Hopefully that saying won’t apply here.

The Mayor of Silver City always rolls up after we get through duck hunting to check on us. I certainly feel bad for those folks and my heart just goes out to them.
-
I guess that will depend upon if the baseball team can reverse it's trajectory. If not, then probably not.
-
Most definitely. It'll be interesting to see if they even attempt to reach out to him.
-
I don’t know if there’s a difference here, but Ole Miss is a competitive 0-6, while State is a non-competitive 0-6. Yes the results are equivalent, but the scoring margins are vastly different.
-
1952 for State. They started 0-7 that year.
-
Go ahead and close the curtains. This thing is a catastrophe.
-
And things certainly won’t be getting any easier either. Red hot South Carolina pays a visit to Starkville next weekend. They’ll have 3 consecutive weekend sweeps in SEC play.
-
And State is just THAT bad! LOL! All kidding aside though, this has been worse than bad.
-
Zac Selmon obviously has an easy and clear decision to make. It’s just when will it happen.
-
And that’s perfectly ok. I don’t think anyone would have been able to predict just two weeks ago how bad things would actually be. I’m like Bulldogs4 there in that I will always support the team and the players. Those players deserve the best leadership, guidance, and coaching. Right now those needs are not being met.
-
A hell of a hire can certainly be made. I’m not worried about that at all. The thing that concerns me is the dugout and what in the world is going on in there. I don’t know if you watched the Lemonis press conference that Robbie had posted last night, but that feller showed absolutely no emotion. Was he in shock (which I seriously doubt), or does he see the writing on the wall? Now in regards to the AD, Zac Selmon, what is he going to do? A great AD certainly doesn’t micromanage, nor should they. Everyone hates a micromanager. But what about stepping in and taking charge when it needs to be done? I certainly don’t have any issues with that and I feel like that is his responsibility. It’s time for Zac Selmon to step in and get to work.
-
I think the question that is on everyone’s mind is this: What is Zac Selmon going to do to stop the bleeding? Baseball season is a long ways from being over with and what can be done to get some interim staff in place, even if you have to bring Coach Polk in on an interim basis. He can go back to being special assistant to the AD and go coach in the Cape Cod League like he likes to do.
-
Would letting Coach Polk finish out the season be a bad move? I think if State were to allow that to happen, you could go ahead and start the house cleaning process.
-
Wouldn’t this be equivalent to an 84-0 loss in football?
-
Oh my goodness. What the heck happened today? This is worse than bad.
-
Slick, you know that's not the outcome you want for the buzzcut coach.

Ol’ Butch has Auburn playing with some grit. They walked it off with a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 11th. Auburn was down 6-3 going into the bottom of the 9th against Georgia.
