  1. How will the Mississippi teams fare in baseball this weekend?
  2. And I really like the way things are looking for Wayne County this fall. There's no reason why Wayne County shouldn't be playing football after Thanksgiving this November. I realize that's a bold statement, but I feel confident and comfortable with it.
  3. By winning and the fear of changing the formula. That's how.
  4. Her sister was Eva Gabor who was Lisa on Green Acres.
  5. I think the good thing here is that West Jones isn't in a bad position with having to rebuild. They just need a coach who can come in and build off of what has been built.
  6. The orchard that has been yielding this bumper crop of Maroon Tide talent wasn't planted by the current coach. He's done a good job at tending to the crop, but what happens if the crop experiences some pestilence? I'm not saying that will happen, but that will be the time when things get put to the test.
  7. No worries there LOL! I've been out of pocket the last couple of days and I've needed some refreshing banter in my life.
  8. I had a Tacoma. I miss that truck.
  9. Hiring a head coach is a lot like buying a vehicle. Get what you want with all the bells and whistles that you want because this should be a long term investment. If you would rather have an XL over a Lariat then by all means don’t have any regrets in the future and be happy with what you’ve got.
  10. I’m in agreement with Slick there. If there’s better options available, you go after them and don’t settle.
  11. Where has he been since his last stint at South Jones in 2017? An assistant somewhere?
  12. And quite efficient at that and we only used two pitchers in 6 1/2 innings of baseball.
  13. Well State arguably played a better game than South Carolina tonight, but still was on the wrong side of the win/loss column. State just couldn’t seem to get runs home when they needed them. The effort was great and State had multiple opportunities to get a lead and win the ballgame. At least this one was lost in the 9th inning.
  14. Don't you get tired of typing, "Hear ye, hear ye!" all the time? That's got to be a serious pain in the rear.
  15. I didn't think about the whole dropping pop-ups aspect of it, which is something that should never happen, but that would seem par-for-the-course for this State baseball team.
  16. Just let them attempt solo shots and yes some may get out of the yard, but you'll definitely get a fair share at the warning track and also some pop-ups in the outfield.
  17. Moving from JUCO to D-1 definitely is a step up in pay.
  18. Yes I didn't think about that Vott. If they lived there it would just split the difference.
  19. If Missy was the head coach at JCJC in Ellisville (yes it's still Jones County Junior College in my book) and her husband was/is the head coach at Columbia, isn't that some sort of geographical oddity in and of itself within Mississippi?
  20. If we issue 3 walks per game against South Carolina, they'll make us pay for them. As far as I'm concerned that's 3 walks too many and there's no excuse for walking a batter, especially a lead-off batter. Now if we have a total of 3 walks for the entire weekend, then yes that will be an impressive turnaround.
  21. Exactly. And that's a loss nobody would be upset about.
  22. In other words, if you're going to lose a baseball game lose it in the 9th inning and not the 3rd or 4th. I'll take that as a sign of life with a pulse.
  23. I think any sign of life will be good at this point.
