Great start by Thatcher Hurd and great rebound game by LSU. I think Skenes might come in in the bottom of the 8th inning. Florida is melting down.

LSU needs to forget about yesterday and forget about Skenes being on 3 days of rest. He will have plenty of time to rest after today. If he starts to lose his command or if Florida is able to get hits off of him, then LSU needs to go to the bullpen. If not, LSU needs to let him get a quality start and let him pitch 6 innings. That's probably the best scenario LSU could ask for this evening.

Florida 24 LSU 4 Final. What an offensive output by Florida. I had a feeling this thing was going to go to three games, but I didn’t see this type of offensive output from Florida. LSU will need Skenes to pitch tomorrow if they want to win the thing.

I realize this would be the ultimate gamble for LSU, but if they were to try to win this game tonight without Skenes and be successful in doing so, they could save him for game 1 of the championship series but I think the stakes are too high for them not to pitch him tonight.

I think this is the format that makes the most sense. They've got the athletic schedule on the MHSAA website for the 2023-2024 school year and it mentions the dates of November 30th, December 1st, & December 2nd (which is a Thursday, Friday, & Saturday).

I think that would be a bit of a challenge.

I just don't see LSU losing tonight with Skenes on the mound and I don't think Wake Forest has a remedy for that problem.

With the addition of the 7th game, it makes me wonder if they want to play it on grass in December. I realize State and OM have pristine grass fields and I think they would be able to hold up for seven games, but I think the championship games will have to be played over the course of 3 days instead of 2. That's another factor you'll have to consider as well. I just don't want the thing in Oxford LOL!

I don’t know if the stadium lights are completely gone, but I’m sure they sustained some damage. Back in the old days there were no such things as stadium lights, but if they can get some commercial electricians out there I don’t think they’ll have any issues with lighting. They just need to get them out there in a reasonable timeframe.

If they keep it at Southern Miss, I’m fine with that. I don’t think there will be any Tennessee fans there complaining about there not being an Applebees in Hattiesburg.

Thankfully this lasted less than 24 hours. Glad he decided to remain in the fold because he's going to be a big part of this baseball team moving forward.

Football brings a sense of normalcy, just like when Katrina hit. They may have to set up a temporary press box somewhere, but there will be football played at Dantzler and that will be a win for the community.

It's bad, but I think they will rebound from it and rally around their football team. They've got something to play for.

They'll be ok. Feaster will have those boys ready to play. They will clean up and have Dantzler ready to go.

Looks to be about as good of a hire Lemonis could have made. He's just going to have to literally hit the ground running and hopefully this turns out to be good hire when State pitchers toe the rubber next season. We will see.

Why do you think State hasn’t hired a pitching coach yet? Do you think it would have been an easier hire to make if there was a clean slate to work with?

I'd like to see the Oct. 26th matchup with Open vs. Enterprise at 7:00pm. I think Open is the clear favorite in that one.

So does Deion Sanders get his foot amputated or do they find a way to save it? I think they'll try to exhaust every dollar to save it, but knowing that the amputations to his toes didn't work makes you wonder.
