  1. Stopped by practice yesterday it looks like Lampley has his numbers up. Also looked like some of the big boys that have been walking the hallways not playing decided to play. The practice was full of energy and well organized no signs of the wing T lol. Not saying all is well in WC this is his first year but I do believe they made a great decision.

  2. Heck of a comeback win for OM. Plus the diving catch to save the lead in the 9th.

  3. MAIS isn't interested in such a thing.

  4. Good question. If you have crooks hiring crooks, then I don't think the status quo changes very much. Now if you have some ethical people trying to hire ethical leaders, then yes things can change. Unfortunately when power is involved, it tends to bring out the worst in folks and you wind up with corruption.

  5. And yes 7A needs to go away. More consolidation will eventually force their hands hopefully

  6. Don't forget about the elimination of 7A either, LOL. As more and more of these small schools start drying up as time goes on, I think the MHSAA will have no choice but to go back to 6 classifications. You know as well as I do that they would try everything in their power to prevent that from happening, but you can't sustain 7 classifications and justify it at the same time. Their greed and corruption would stick out like a sore thumb.

  7. The reasoning for going back to 6A has to do more with the Choose Act and private schools. By separating the public and private schools it reduced the numbers to make it more practical for going back to 6A. The public and private schools can still play each other during the season but they will have separate playoffs. Research the Choose Act and how the state was paying students to transfer to private schools and the way AHSAA dealt with it by splitting public and private school playoffs. Many more private schools in AHSAA than in Mississippi. This eliminated the need for Competitive Balance for private schools. There are around 40 private school members of AHSAA. A few competed in the old 6A classification. Most were 5A and below. Also, AHSAA has a revenue sharing deal where they return money to member schools and they even have waived membership fees when revenue is high. I grew up in Mississippi and have been in Alabama several years. I keep of with both states.

  8. Hankins should have been forced to have that stupid turf bird tattooed across his fat cheeks before he sped out of town. Man that is the most untough emblem I have ever seen . How long will WC be stuck with that crap ?

  9. And this is why I can't commit as a baseball fan any more than I do. The game is just too fickle. I understand being young, lots of new players, but that's basically what it is for everybody now. All three teams may well still end with successful seasons, but the road to get there is hard to watch. All we have for now is the old saying, "you are what your record says you are".

  10. I doubt in Mississippi that everything locally will be taken over by the state. They do everything they stop that from happening.

  11. Actually it started in 1953 when the US instigated a coup to overthrow a popularly elected prime minister to install a US friendly but wildly unpopular Shah who proceeded to brutalize the people of Iran in an effort to kowtow to the US and act as their puppet/lackey until the Iranian people were fed up enough and the popular revolt overthrew the Shah and installed the Ayatollah in 1979. There is a very legitimate reason why the moderate people of Iran are pissed at the US when they've been forced to live under a religious zealot extremist government instead of the moderate secular government the US overthrew because they were going to nationalize their oil industry to prevent the British (BP) from stealing their oil wealth. The hostages taken in 1979 were a direct result of the US meddling with Iran. The war today is more of a proxy war with China (like Venezuela). Iran and Venezuela provided China with the majority of its oil. By meddling there we cripple the Chinese economy and gaining in other ways that are far less visible to us regular folks. China is trying to position itself as the next economic superpower to take the spot the US has held for the last 60+ years. They can't quite back things up militarily across the globe but economically, diplomatically, and technologically? They're getting there.

  12. Huge road series win for Ole Miss. Really and truly the State weekend has been an outlier so far in league play, the other three weekends they’ve kinda gotten what they needed. USM also won their road series, but kinda continued the trend of not being terribly impressive against lesser teams. Big series for all three next week. USM travels to Lafayette to play the Ragin Cajuns, Ole Miss hosts the purple and gold Cajuns, and State hosts everybody’s favorite and least controversial team, Tennessee. All three in-state schools need to take their series if we are being honest.

  15. Just for emphasis again. This Wilma Taylor's (Pres. of the board ) son was hired away from changing oil in small engines by Hathorne not long after Hankins started and put on the football staff. Pound has already told him he wont be on his staff. Her , Bubba and this downs syndrome Temp supt( yes we met and you know me so come at me please) have been talking together and cooked this scheme up to run Tracy off . They want her nephew Cory Reynolds with her son to continue run the football program into the ground . The people telling her and Bubba what to do should be in jail for the stealing with both hands they were doing before these current clowns. They are so scared of any outside eyes coming in and seeing what they have done and I suspect are still doing. Marion is a bright kid who will stand up for what is right but they will run him off eventually also . My advice for him is to leave Wayne County too. You will spend half your life trying to undo their crap and have nothing to show for it. But if you really want to scare them you know the same people as me . Have one of them get with me and I can tell you where to start.
