Blake
From your playing years back in the day.... who was the best football player you ever faced? What made him stick out in your mind? Did he go on to play at the next level?
lionpack
Deontae Skinner at Noxubee County. He played DE and flew around making plays all over the field. Couldn't get away from him.
coastfootballfanman
Eric Dotson at Pascagoula was a freak of nature. We could not block him for anything.. He was unreal. That team also had Dwayne Curry at LB as well. Man, they were so good.
bcrandal
Stevan Ridley at Trinity Episcopal. Usually only played first half and was the kicker the rest of the game.
mrmilwaukee
I'd be interested to hear from someone who played against Marcus Dupree.

Never played against him but saw him play. Until this day and I’ve watched a lot of high school football and great players. He is with out question the best I’ve see. He was a man among kids, that size to go with his speed was unreal.
s1nglewing
Warren Central's Carl Blue was a little before my time but I saw him play.
GoulaEagle05
Xavier Mitchell from Long Beach was special. He was tough to block for us all night long. Richard Dickson from Ocean Springs was another that was a great player. He was arguably better on defense than he was on offense in my opinion. He could flat out play! FBdude
Jerry Price and Junior Wallace were two of the best to play in the old Sam Dale Conference.

Pegues was such a great HS and College player. Jimmy Johns a Brookhaven that same year was a great one although I did not play against him. Jerell Poe was also a senior that year. That class statewide was really good.

Bulldog 71
I played against Marcus Dupree his freshman and sophomore seasons. His freshman year, he only played defensive back and returned kicks. We beat them 34-6. Their 6 points was on his 100 yard kickoff return! Back then it was not a touchback if kick went in end zone. He fumbled the kick in the end zone, picked it up and smoked everyone right up the sideline. We did not break any long runs, because he would catch anyone that broke over 10 yards past line of scrimmage. His sophomore year they were a much better team. It was our homecoming and we beat them 12-7. Their only score was a pass to the tight end. We hit him pretty good and he would lay down and they would take him out for a few plays. Then he would come back in to play. He did not like to get hit. I think he got better at taking hit his last two years. He definitely had exceptional speed and you had to keep him from breaking the line of scrimmage. We had some linebackers that would take your head off and they punished him all night. Those were my junior and senior years, so I didn’t play against him his best two years.
