Wareagle,your response was sad to read for a Meridian guy. I never thought I would see the day that going from Quitman to Meridian for a player would be seen as a downgrade. How the mighty have fallen.

On the contrary Merlin,state funds did go to USM to build new facilities ..wink wink. I’m sure some have made their way to Oxford and Starkville as well.

As far as OG goes,on offense they should try to throw it as much as possible because Meridian’s secondary struggled the last game. Their defense should go with a 5 man front and play man to man to stop Meridian’s running attack. As we all know,anything can and will happen in these playoffs.

I think Boyles’ game plan to start against OG will be to be run heavy and keep OG’s offense on the sideline. On defense, Meridian’s game plan should be to play Cover 2 with CB’s in bump and run to disrupt the timing of OG’s quick passing game.

Preferably CB,OG killed our secondary last game.I’ve seen Hill play CB at the end of a game. OG also ran the ball better than they usually do last game.

If Meridian’s offense can limit the turnovers and the defense slows down the run or pass then this should be a good game.

Well I guess we have a puncher’s chance against OG.

Congratulations Meridian’s coaching staff and players. We haven’t been in the playoffs or won a playoff game since 2017. I was wrong about how the season would go after losing first game of the season to Quitman.

That Dedeaux kid can move. He did a pretty good job against the 5 star DE Waller from Picayune.

OS has a left tackle, #70 Dedeaux,that is humongous(looks to be 6’7” -6’8”). He’ll be playing on Sundays with that size if he can develop.

As far as OS- Meridian,it should be a good game if we don’t turn the ball over because OS won’t beat themselves. We aren’t very disciplined and we turn the ball over consistently. It’s playoff time,and anything can and will happen in these games.

Hey Dub,I got around to watch some OS film. They’re a very well coached and disciplined team on both sides of the ball (not a lot of penalties or turnovers on offense). Their offense gets good play calling,but they’re not explosive in the run or pass game. Their defense carries them,and they play good assignment defense(everyone is where they’re supposed to be consistently).They’re prone to give up a big run play for a TD early in a game.

I’m just happy to see Meridian in the playoffs after 5 straight seasons missing them. From 1982 to 2017 we missed the playoffs 4 times. As for the game with OS,I’ll have to go watch some film on OS to see how they look.

OGWarrior, you guys should win,but OG only beat Meridian by 1 pt at OG last season.

IMO,Meridian doesn’t need to attempt a single pass in any game. They can move the ball against anyone just running the ball. All of the turnovers happen when attempting to pass.
