Offense hasn’t been our problem this season. Daniel Hill could help us win a lot of games if he played defense full time as well. He’s our best LB,but he doesn’t play defense full time. We’ve had a lot of injuries on defense. The 2 games we’ve lost we gave up almost 600 yards rushing. He would immediately fix that problem,but we have to have him playing offense full time.

Hey Mike 67,I hate to thread jack a thread about the Sims kid from Enterprise,but LSU offered him the spring of his freshman season. With him being 6'1" 220 as a sophomore,he'll have an offer from every major D 1 program in the country. He's already built like Robinson from Germantown,and he's the #1 RB in the country. He had a 99 yard TD run against Pearl Friday.

Hey Dub,OG has beaten Meridian 3 straight games,but it seems like it has been more games than that. Meridian doesn't have a true rival,and OG was the closest thing we had to a rivalry because 6A South always came down to these schools for a decade. I don't think the Meridian kids see this as a rival because they've gotten beaten by everyone the last 3 seasons. I don't think these current OG players see it as a rivalry because all they know is blowing Meridian out.

Hey Enterprise,Zee Sims looks like he is a pretty good athlete with impressive numbers. As far as the best sophomores in the state goes, I'll raise u the kid in the pic above. He's one of the best sophomore RB's in the US.

As of now,OG,Brandon,Pearl,and Meridian are the top 4 teams in Region 3. There's a lot of football left to play,and I think Warren Central could possibly get back into the playoff hunt.

That's a class move ogwarrior. My nephew plays for Meridian and called me early this morning with the news. Anytime a young person with a lot of promise loses their life it's heartbreaking.

Meridian has never recruited,and probably never will. People that live in the Lauderdale County school districts don't want their kids coming to Meridian...period.

This kid is only a sophomore,but will be a monster by the time he is a senior. I just wanted to highlight a couple of our players.

I will pound on the table for this kid because I don't feel he gets the recognition he deserves. He's a good student,and he can flat out fly( 6A 200m state champion).

It got so bad when another starting LB broke his leg Friday that we had to move the free safety to MLB. On another note #16 WR/S ,Quindarrius Jones, is off to a monster start to the season. He's a 6'3"junior,and has close to 10 td's so far this season. He'll be getting Power 5 offers.

We definitely aren’t back,but this group of kids fights. I know injuries happen to every team,but injuries have decimated this team. We probably have 7 starters that have gone down the last 2 weeks. Most of them are on defense,and it’s hurting our defense. Our starting QB got hurt in the 3rd qtr,and we had to finish the game with our best 2 athletes taking direct snaps,and running every play in the 4th qtr. one positive is we can score,and we have scored 35+ pts every game. Also,If there is a faster kid in Mississippi with the ball in his hands than Meridian ATH Jonathan Vaughn then I wanna see him.

I see I was wrong about this game because I thought OG would win by 2 TD’s. I haven’t watched any highlights of this game. What did both teams do schematically that won/lost the game?

IMO,OG should be nationally ranked. I went to see #1 team in the country,Mater Dei,CA,play at #13 in the country Duncanville,TX,and D'ville got beat 45-3. OG would beat D'ville. They had a QB that wasn't athletic,and couldn't throw it. A lot of these teams are ranked nationally because they are from FL,CA,TX,GA etc.

That's horrible news. Prayers to his family and their community. Those kids will be playing this game with heavy hearts.

Meridian has gone to a hybrid schedule starting today,and can practice and play games. Laurel's best 3 players are the RB,LT,and their MLB. The LT is a junior,and he is a big time recruit. Laurel has to replace a lot of players on both sides of the ball, including the QB. Meridian brings back pretty much the whole team on both sides of the ball. I think this is the season MHS starts to turn things around from the last 3 seasons. I think this will be a close game.
