Meridian has a DE that wears #1 and is about 6’4 235(he’s a stud). Does anyone know where he came from and what grade he’s in?

I saw where Waller was named a 5 star recruit on 247 Sports. He will probably be the top recruit in the state.

Hill played LB sparingly as a sophomore,but didn’t play it last season. I saw some recruiting sites had him listed as a LB. He’ll be a college RB.

I see no one mentioned Jerious Jackson from Tupelo. He went on to start at Norte Dame and played in the NFL.

Hey Dub,it seems like he's been at Meridian forever because he started as an 8th grader. Next season is his last season,and I hope Boyles can improve the OL to block for him.

This is a home run hire IMO. I wonder how he will use Meridian ATH Daniel Hill?

I think couple of the things Meridian should be looking for in a coach is a coach who knows the passing game and that can develop QB's.

IMO,I think we should go after an offensive coordinator from a successful program(OG,Brandon,Starkville,Madison Central etc.). We made the mistake of not hiring Starkville head coach,Chris Jones,in 2017 and we haven't been competitive since. I'm not a fan of hiring Vance.

I figured this game would shake out like it did.

Bulldogs,my issue with the scheme on offense is that there is no creativity to it coupled with bad OL play. Hill gets handed the ball against 8 man boxes seemingly every play,and instantly is tackled for losses in the backfield with 3-4 people draped all over him. Also,he is given the ball to much and expected to make a play out of nothing. There are other players on offense that can make plays but hardly get touches. For example,how many schools have a 6'3" 200 lb WR and Florida State commit that hardly gets targeted other than a hope and a prayer deep shots? As far as the sitting out goes,I only suggested that because of his injury history. It's a new day,and with these NIL dollars I want kids and their families to get every cent they can get out of the multi BILLION dollar industry that is college football.

I understand where you are coming from,but college football is big BUSINESS,more so now than ever. With his injury history,I wouldn't want to jeopardize his future playing his senior year when he has every offer a high school player could want. The NIL money these kids are getting is serious. I don't want to see a, Boobie Myles from Friday Night Lights, situation with this kid. Colleges might not be crazy about a kid sitting out their senior season,but I'm sure they like that more than getting a kid with a torn ACL.

I honestly see OG winning this game. Meridian's offense is turnover prone with way too many interceptions. Also,I think Meridian RB Hill is the best RB in the state,but he doesn't play in a good scheme on offense or have a good OL. He's taken a beating the last 3 seasons. He seriously needs to consider not playing his senior year and enrolling to college early the following spring. He's had his last 2 seasons ended with a broken leg playing behind a horrible OL.

It has happened to WP before. West Point was down the whole decade of the 90's.

I watched the entire West Point vs Brandon jamboree,and Brandon didn't pass the ball well. They'll be leaning on those 2 RB's to carry their offense.

Deonte,Meridian hasn't made the playoffs the last 4 seasons. Laurel has made deep playoff runs the last few years, they're in everyone's preseason top 10,and they're at home. I think Laurel is the favorite in this game.
