He was one of the good guys. Honestly we had some pretty good teachers back then that really took the time to get to know us. A lot more good than bad

You will never see a documentary or read anything truthful about it in the local newspaper. The reason being they don’t won’t the money players behind this exposed. It’s your typical names behind everything crooked in Wayne County. People say well there’s nothing to do to keep our kids out of trouble. Ask yourselves why and look at the corruption here. Oh it’s the same names as when I came up just a different generation. 
The school system is a joke we have good teachers but they aren’t allowed to teach they are expected to get the kids prepared to take the state test. Well that went over really well this year. Out of the six schools in the district one maintained the same average as last year but dropped a few points. All the others dropped one from an A to a D and 160 points. Yet we give the Superintendent a contract extension. I’m sorry the law needs to be changed back to elect the superintendent because you get a school board like our they will not fire a superintendent.

I wasn’t there tonight but it looks like WC stood toe to toe with GC. WC had the ball 1st and goal with 10 seconds left. Driving to tie the game final was 20-13

Simple answer is she doesn’t.

 

Disclaimer for the rats. This is all my opinion and I tried to leave out the innocent.

 

The missing five million dollars.

 

How the hell does money in a trust handled by a local bank get hacked out of said institution ? That hasn’t been answered yet. People just quit asking questions. What if it wasn’t in there? Like ever ? Just asking

 

When the state sent BJ that notice , who was grabbing with both hands let’s be honest,  something changed.  I don’t know what exactly happened but I got a pretty good idea.  

Nobody in that whole system had the knowledge to even start to get back in compliance and they were out bad.  More probably there were qualified people but the environment was so toxic . An incompetent from an oil family leading with a school board made up of mawmaws, appliance repairmen and timber contractors. Who is going to stick their neck out in that ?

COVID hit right in that melee. This is where it gets foggy for me but what happened just didn’t happen by chance. Somehow there was no principal. BJ is in his office eating crayons and gets a call that says when they take over that district they take it ALL over.  One day he turns around and and there is a nose stuck in his but crack.

 

 

Bubba Hathorne is our man . He will be our principal and is going to be our point man on getting us back in compliance. He did, in their minds. Nobody even checked. They ran to the newspaper and WDAM doing victory laps with ol red face on their shoulders. He had his arm in a sling from patting himself on the back.

No more BJ.  As the elected Supt of education in the state had been made extinct.  His legacy will be defined as Shetland Gandy,  totally ignoring the new state requirements, misplacing five million dollars like a hammer you laid down somewhere and Bubba Hathorne.  You chose poorly but it’s understandable as you had other priorities. So the last elected supt in Wayne County history went home and left to see the country in that big shiny new rv. 

With BJ gone all those consequences were dumped into the laps of the tradesman and family matriarch Their missing trust money was being handled by whatever jackleg attorney(allegedly) that was getting paid. Ol red face was handling the compliance so all they really had to do was meet, talk about church , eat snacks and drink beverages. It was back to out of sight out of mind.

Alas it was time for the board to make the inaugural selection. No more will of the people. It’s at the boards whim. It’s a good system right ?  A washed out Jones County education administration reject is teaching jr high out at Beat Four. Just so happens he lives right close to ol red face.  The board still just wanting it all to go away installs him . He’s big on them test scores after all. 

 

 

Covid hit. Shetland went somewhere that didn’t have the tough opposing coaching and Wayne County had the chance to make a strong move back to the Boyles coaching tree.  Ol red face wants complete say of the coaching hire. First of all he flat out lied to interm coach Kevin Gandy. Kevin is a Wayne County native and played for Coach Boyles while winning a title. 

Back to the crimson faced one, the new Supt announces to the world that Hathorne will have sole say into turning in a name to the board. It gets out that Todd Lowery is who is going to turn in. Out of Todd Breland, Mitch Evans , Kevin Gandy and several other Boyles guys that’s the name he picked.  Several of us raised hell and that got quashed. Hathorne was infuriated. He also went closed mouth until he hired Jack Hankins.   A puppet that dances when Bubba whistles and a fellow inept offense disciple.  He showed us. 

Now four years of Bubba Hathorne’s thump print and look what he has done. It’s his he needs to own it but he won’t. 

Stupid people don’t know they are stupid it’s part of the stupidity.

The much praised test scores. Those first ones Bubba took credit for were the highest you could get. As Murray Povich says the test of time determined that was ….. a lie. They had used the wrong formula to off set something to do with the Covid and the scores were average to below average. The state caught it but they still released that to the news media and it was never retracted. Fast forward to present day and another round of sorry grades.  Enough to stop the letters but barely.So he really didn’t do anything but make sure a few forms were filled out and some boxes checked. What an embarrassment.  Imagine a dude that has failed at everything fails again and puts egg on everyone’s face that let this guy go unchecked because they felt overwhelmed.

Oh and the supt . They just renewed him about a week before these bad test scores come out and right before the board is elected in November. The man that nominated him ? He was once supt a long time ago and Corey’s mom finalized it as the head of the board.  Mom we will call her, announced to the media that the supt was renewed because he knows what he is doing. LOL, more egg on your face because a week later bad test scores come out again. I’ve talked to that Supt recently and he is a mope who won’t look you in the eye and won’t give you an answer that is firm. He’s not in charge of anything he just sits in the chair.  His other little Beat Four hubby that is on the board is running the show. That’s why he nominated and pushed him through a couple of weeks ago. IMO. Don’t sue me little man I know you want to hide.

 

This former superintendent that on the board? He keeps saying he’s going to retire but doesn’t. It’s almost like he learned the system way back then and fed at the trough long after he left the top spot.

That boards whole focus is to keep them scores up and keep the prying eyes that a takeover would bring in, out of that courthouse. 

The bidding and awarding of bids on who gets those oil leases is all handled by the local school boards in MS.  Outside of a few guidelines state government has no say so in the process. So they say.  Who says how much oil is in that ground so they know if a bid is competitive or not ? Who’s counting what’s coming out of there after the company leasing starts producing? Lot of room for “stuff “ to go on with that many variables. 

They have been grifting that oil trust for no telling how long and when it looked like the state was coming in they panicked and announced missing money trying to cover their tracks. They are still trying to cover their tracks.  I can see their attorney now walking around his office throwing things at the wall trying to come up with an excuse for five million missing. Hackers , yes they did it. Even the board would believe that. They are not tech savvy.

 

So you see , desperation for whatever reason, put Hathorne in his position to destroy the football program and really they are no better off than they were when they got the letter. The only result being destroying twenty years of hard work putting together a tradition.

 

 Board members, I know some of y’all read this. Do us all a favor and yourself too. Drop your mistrust of outsiders. Contract someone out for compliance quality control. Get an accounting firm to come in and verify them books every year. Don’t give that duty to your attorney. Form a committee and let this firm report to them. 

Get rid of this manifestation of bad luck that calls himself a principal.  All he is doing is bringing us all down. Every one knows it. 

Lastly Hankins is leaving after this season. I’m ninety nine percent sure of it. Hell make him principal. I think he would do good at it.

Then hire someone associated with Coach Boyles and let’s start getting this thing back on track . 

Quit being afraid.

It's the worst kept secret that Hankins is coaching his last season at Wayne and will step down at the end of the season. I will believe it when I see it even though I have been asking how much losing can he endure. It has to be getting old.

You would think that it would be a point to start over right the right way. It won't be if the same person is allowed to install his next incompetent that he can walk around Clinton boasting about it.

We have to rise as one voice and get him gone. The school board in it's current form won't do it. They have to go also. Elections for seats  coming up next month.  The future knocks but the past has to be exposed and some people come to answer  on who's really calling the shots.  It's high time these old warts are removed . You say you want a future for your kids ? Let people who actually grew up there guide the way forward not these old stinky fish that have washed up . Wayne County can do better than other communities washed out rejects .

I'm at a loss for words . I've heard of things like this at other schools, Was this what it was like in ol red face's last days at NEJ ? i've heard it was rough.

The couple of assistants he has have basically quit . Knowing they will be gone at the end of the season. They are burning through the JV and freshman skill players like cash to a drunken sailor.

They have beat the upper classmen up and are grinding the young ones up now. Destroying their confidence and development .

This whole program  he runs reminds me of those oriental self help clinics. They slap and berate the participants endlessly . Total reboot to an emotionless drone. Nobody's going to get behind that and them mamas wont continue to be behind  this act much longer either.

You know what quit. I mean you kind of already have,.Why are you still here ? Let the middle school coaches finish coaching  the season out It's obvious you will never get it done. Also do the best thing you will have ever done at wC and whip red face's arse good on the way out for setting you up as scapegoat for this mess.

Ya'll are beating them kids up for nothing and it's wrong.

How many kids that were playing jr high last season will they burn through tonight? Crying about WC doesn’t have the players they used to have.  What do you have maybe forty players? Go look in the halls,  that’s the ones that have figured out what y’all about. Losing football. 
 

Dont be using the excuse of the first couple of seasons either. When Justin Cooley left it’s no coincidence that your record fell off a cliff. Can you even beat East Central tonight? Let’s see, talent drop off, just using non district only to prepare for district.  You running out of excuses. I’m going to tell everyone something else too. Behind closed doors red face and his buddy are already throwing you under the bus. They plan on buying themselves more time by laying it all at the coaches feet. . 
 

 

Matter of fact if East Central coach can’t beat this clown show out here they should be looking somewhere  else for a coach . That goes for anyone left on this schedule.  The coaching staff has mailed it in for the year

Northeast Jones that’s where his son goes to school. He didn’t want to leave WC but took the chance to coach his son, you can’t blame him at all.

I knew they were playing better. I know his son was a draw but I believe he left because of Hathorne just like the rest of staff after one season.

I was told he was helping coach as well I knew he was an administrator but I could have gotten back info. I haven’t talked to Justin in a couple of months. Either way if not coaching he gets to watch his son. That’s something he couldn’t do as an assistant at WC

Dropped another one. The pressure is on to top the three win total from last season.

Coach  was touted as some type of offensive guru.  Wing bone or some garbage they said.  What does that say when the offense is consistent arse against anyone with a mid 4A defense ?

Is anyone running point up there to start sending out feelers for a new coach.? Bubba Hathorne needs to have NO SAY SO in who it is ? No more Alabama washed out retreads.

Cooley is a good guy and was a decent coach from what I heard about him.  I think when he was a Raleigh they didn't have a Perkins or Moncrief and he probably did a good job with what he had.  Slick who you think will be the next guy if the current one does leave?

If someone on that board doesn’t grow a sack and throw the bum principal out it will be Todd Lowery. He’s already promised it to him.  I can’t tell you how I know but I do.

0-10 or 1-9 & yes he had some of those type players. He's just not a head coach material.

He was super young when he got that job. Like 25 or 26yrs old. Much different coach now.
