Absolutely he is I think he would make a good head coach. He’s now in administration so we will not find out. He was the last Defensive Coordinator to win a state title at Wayne County and the years with coach Mangum and Coach Bud Blackledge really did him good.

0-10 or 1-9 & yes he had some of those type players. He's just not a head coach material.

Didn’t work out for Belicheck and Saban in Cleveland either but doesn’t mean they weren’t head coach material. Just gotta find the right fit. I know that’s pro level but somebody may be a totally different coach from 25-40 once they really learn what they are doing and find their identity.

He was probably around 31 or 32 when he got the job at Raleigh in 2012. The First year he went 3-8 and followed that up with 4-7 in 2013. Talent was  lower at Raleigh in those two years than it had been previously been and currently is there now, but moving away from Wing T and trying to transition to the spread definitely wasn’t the best fit offensively for the Lions.  But, I agree he is a great dude and defensive coordinator. I always liked him. And Bert, I think you’re thinking about Hammond. After going 5-6 in 2000, He went 0-9 in 2001 and 0-10 in 2002.

He lost really bad when he lost. If they played 5 qtrs he would lost those 6 games. They were very happy when he left. One of the worst head coaches in history.

Wayne  County should give him a call, but I don’t see Lance going that direction.

No offense I'm sure he's a great coach but no more old guys coasting to retirement.

Tracy Lampley or Mitch Evans with Justin Cooley as DC would right the ship quick.

As long as the red faced backstabber is gone. Take his keys, throw everything in his office in the trash and do a hazmat cleaning of the whole place.

Justin Cooley will not be back no time soon. His son is playing at NEJ he’s a freshman or maybe Sophomore. Justin will be there until he graduates and honestly he will probably retire right there that’s home to him.

They could have a cardboard cutout of him standing on the sideline and it would do better than  these incompetents. The plays and system they run is something you call for fifth graders .  They don't know they aren't good at what they do.  Always just this or that and they would have won . Always about to turn the corner. Burning through the underclassmen. Where all the jrs and srs go ? We all know.

Same old song and dance just a different year. Someone made the comment earlier in this thread that WC definitely should beat EC, Stone and Van because WC just had more athleticism. Well the defeated EC lost to Stone at home they had every chance in the end but the play calling was atrocious. WC has plenty of athletes now I don’t mean athletes like they had in the early 2000s. But in this watered down 5A which is an absolute joke they could and should be at the top. Time For Change at WC!!!!

So ? That's no get out of jail free card. No name in the book can stop him from being fired. What if he resigns ?

If he resigns, gets fired or transfers to a new school within District 5 i think he can keep his position. If he retires I believe the District has to replace him.

I really don’t think WC wins this week or next.

This team as it is run now looks nothing like it did. Shetland ran a better ship.

They couldn’t get out of the second round in 3A football. The defense is non existent. Stone could have beat us as bad as they wanted to last week.
I wouldn’t doubt that Earnest didn’t run up the score

Bubba Gump Shrimp and Pappy Buttermilk from Bama and Supt of Education who never played a lick of athletics in high school! What could possibly go wrong!:)

Maybe he didn’t play but when he is trying to get away from being talked to he can back pedal and run like Terrell Buckley

I misjudged just how bad Laurel is . Their defense is like playing against air and every time their offense gets in front of the chains they make a penalty. They stopped their selves time and time again.
WC earned a trip to Brookhaven in two weeks. “ hold everything, there’s a flag on the play. “
