Games have been played in horrible weather conditions since the game of football was invented. Now if the A.D./Coach sees the earlier in the week of the game that if its about a 70% chance of rain or more on a Friday night they want to move it up to a Thursday or push it back to Saturday

I'm stunned.

No play with lightening within a certain distance all outside sports. Teams go to the dressing room. Fans leave the stadium a must.

Lightning i agree 100%. Pouring rain and sloppy field, tee it up and play

What's it their turn for?  Maybe I'm missing something here.

I guess because over the past few seasons Picayune West Jones and Hattiesburg have represented the south in the 6a title games and he is thinking its time Goula got their shot to play in it.

You aren't.

There's a lot of cockiness around the program going into the season but they haven't earned anything.  And until they do, it won't be their turn.

Here's an impressive 6A South Stat:  Picayune has scored in 315 consecutive football games, win or lose.  I don't think anyone else in the State of Mississippi comes remotely close.

Impressive. Wayne Co was in lead until 2023 I believe. Give or take. I know they were ahead in 2019, let's put it that way.

So who is the better team right now in Region 4? Goula or Gautier. Neither team has  started out like I thought they would. With most everyone back for Goula except the QB I had them going at least 7-3 in regular season. Same with Gautier even though they moved up to 6a

I would think you'd give the nod to Goula, but that will probably shake out when those two teams face off against each other.  It's definitely not a sure thing though.

That's an unknown answer at this point although Pascagoula most assuredly has a better roster.  However, Gautier seems to bring more emotion to the table in that matchup and has had the upper hand more times than not in recent years.  By season's end, I expect their offense will be more consistent.

Pascagoula has woeful special teams -- particularly punting -- and uncertainty at QB right now.  The best linebacker has been moved to QB since the starter was injured at Biloxi and they're struggling to move the chains.  And I'm not convinced the return of Glaude is going to be a significant improvement.

From what I am told, Pascagoula is missing their best RB, WR and QB and have played two really good teams in Ocean Springs (you could argue they should have won that) and d'Iberville (in that game late before some costly turnovers gave the Warriors two scores to pull away) and Biloxi who does appear to be improved (should have won that one). They have another tough matchup with Gulfport coming up this Friday. Going through all of that while playing four quality 7A football teams is tough. If they can get healthy soon and find their rhythm, I think they are still the second best team in region 4 at worst and honestly could play with Picayune. They will definitely be prepared for region/playoffs. It is important to remember what playing quality football teams early can do for you. Ocean Springs was 1-4 after pre region and ended up losing a tough one to Brandon in South State. Defensively, Gautier appears down. They have played two, very bad teams and beat them soundly. They have played two, good teams and have been boat raced in both. I think right now, them at PRC will be battling it out for the 3 and 4 seeds in the region while Picayune and Pascagoula battle for 1st and 2nd.

Goula did impress me by holding Ocean Springs to 21pts

You can see they have a good team. Their defense gave us fits all night. We struggled moving the ball and if not for what looked like busted coverage on one of our passes that let our Tight End get wide open, it may have only been 14 we scored. They moved it on us pretty good as well at times, but penalties or turnover kept them from capitalizing. They also had a long TD pass called back for offensive PI. QB is a big question mark. The Loper kid that came in against us looked really good for being a mainly defensive player. I heard he did okay at times Friday vs. d'Iberville and missed a few throws that cost them but they looked much more dynamic with him than Glaude, in my opinion. You can see Glaude has potential but he looks like a young guy figuring it out right now. If they can get healthy and find their rhythm at quarterback, I think they have a chance.  I can say having seen both Picayune and Pascagoula in person, they are both quality football teams that I believe could win south 6A.

Reminds me of 2017 when we went to Poplarville.  Had scored on them twice in the 4th and beat them twice in the 4th only for it to be called back for penalties.  But you're right though, Pascagoula had Ocean Springs beat.

Loper is the best linebacker and playing him at QB, unfortunately, diminishes the strength of the front seven.
